I live down the street from the Larchmont and when family and friends come to visit I always recommend they stay here. The Greenwich Village location can't be beat, and it's very reasonable in price for Manhattan. The shower is down the hall from the room but none of my guests have ever had to wait to use it and...

My husband and I stayed here from 12/30/16-1/1/17. We were given a queen sized room on the second floor. It was a nice sized room, the bed was fine, the room was clean. The sharing of the bathroom thing was not an issue at all. We never saw another guest our entire stay and the bathrooms were spotless. My only...

Great location, a few blocks from Union Square where you can find anything you need. It is the only hotel (to my knowledge...) that includes breakfast in the room rate. And even so, it is really affordable! Excellent atention from the staff. I will definitely come back!

It's hard to beat the central location - close to a cople Metro stations - and the comparatively low prices. The rooms are quite, clean and very basic. Breakfast in included, and, if not fancy, it offers several choices. The traveller needs to adapt to the limited size of the rooms and the use of shared bathroom and shower.

Just needed a basic CLEAN place to stay, in order to visit NYU, that wasn't going to break the bank. The location was perfect (right by NYU and Washington Square). It was clean and comfortable. Didn't mind the shared bathroom. I will be back!

The Larchmont turned out to be a fabulous hotel choice for my partner and me. It's not for everybody, because the baths are shared. Being a regular camper, though, where we typically share a bathhouse with many other people, this wasn't a problem for us. But the shared bath situation was far better than we expected. There are only 7...

I was going on a road trip with friends and needed a budget hotel for a couple of nights either side of it. I have previously stayed in a number of hotels in NYC which were overpriced. I am a great believer that you get what you pay for and as such my expectations of the Larchmont weren't that high....

Over-all I think it was great. The only thing was when I got there the T.V.s' weren't working due to maintenance. If I had of known that before I went I would have stayed somewhere else, but apart from that everything was O.k.

The Larchmont was recommended to us by my partners colleague. What a great hostel/hotel tucked away on a quiet street in the West Village. Close to everything you need. Super clean and very friendly. Pros - Very clean - Bath robe and slippers for guests (nice touch) - comfortable bed (rm 1E7) - close to subway, supermarket, eateries, cafés -...

Excellent location. First time in NYC. Stayed 4 nights. Very comfortable. Shared bathrooms no problem. All very clean. Has a small kitchen on the floor with fridge and cooking facilities. Continental breakfast simple but set us on our way each day. Staff at reception desk wonderful when checking in and during our stay. Special mention to Jim and Jane. Jane...

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
