I travel extensively and have stayed at the W Hotel many times in the past. Yes the rooms are small but I always liked the hotel. However the last few times I stayed I felt like it was really showing its age and then when I stayed in May the plaster fell off the ceiling next to my bed while...

While I was there an article came out saying this is the #1 place for spouses to take their paramours. The hotel has a nice lobby but the rooms are nothing special and actually are a dull grey color that you question cleanliness. I wouldn't stay here unless I got a special price. I was ok with my stay because...

While I stayed in the beautiful Waldorf Astoria while I was in NYC, I did have a drink across the road in the W hotel; the experience was so bad that I feel I must write a review! Upon being greeted by a very friendly and welcoming security guard, we were seated on a couch next to two other women....

we checked in quite late in the night but the process was quick! the bathroom was well sized for NYC and so was the standard room we stayed in. the fitness facility was fantastic. there are many places around to grab breakfast. on a weekend the lounge becomes quite a place to hang out so we were always asked for...

We are a family of four and stayed there for 5 nights. The room smelled a little funky but when speaking with housekeeping they offered to ozone the room and clean the carpets...no more funky smell. I really though that was great of them to do. We booked through Priceline so got a fantastic deal and they managed to have...

Yes, the hotel is lovely and the rooms are nice - nothing spectacular for the price (and those noisy people at 3 am who don't use their "indoor voice" when clomping through the hallway...) But I waited over an hour past check in time to get my room and when I complained...well, let's just say it fell on deaf ears...because...

Checked in, went to my room to find someone in there. Front desk had given me the wrong keys. Gave me two drink coupons to make it right. Wonder if they gave the guy in the room anything. He looked like he had seen a ghost. Rooms are very small, but well furnished and mine was clean. Terrible trouble with...

i stayed here for 4 nights..cost me an average of US 800 per night for a Fantastic Suite...right, that's the first joke - there is not a scrap of truth in advertising in this.the first room I was put in was filthy, the bathroom (a tiny wet room) ill-lit, the bed tiny, the view nonexistent, the air conditioner encrusted in...

Good bits: Good position, subway nearby, The National next door serves an excellent inexpensive brunch. Room small but OK. Bad bits: The hotel is unnecessarily greedy which is off-putting. Despite the rooms being fairly expensive, you have to pay for the internet in your room (and are not told about the free internet in the lobby), cannot store anything in...

I realize a lot of people add reviews complaining about the room size, unfortunately this is New York for you, and honestly other boutique hotels in the area and especially times square are A LOT smaller. I really enjoyed my stay at The W, the room was perfect and has just enough space for my boyfriend and I for a...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
