I recently stayed at the W for business and was not impressed for the price. The hotel seemed to be trying too hard and missed small basic things that you would expect for the price. My room had no full length mirror, so I literally went to the hall in front of the elevator to check my outfit each morning....

Stayed here for the first 5 days of our honeymoon in November 2011. The room at the time was thought to be terrific, large corner suite. However the furniture was ridiculous. The couch was the most uncomfortable, spaceship looking thing that could not accommodate more than one person. And no space to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The check...

I wasn't convinced when I booked it, but it was a prepaid rate. When we got there I spotted we were in front of the Waldorf Astoria, so I guessed it was fine. Check in was flawless and really easy, took less than 3 minutes. We got two complimentary cocktails (from a 55 year old, angry lady bartender who hated...

I thought W hotel would be a spectacular experience, but it was just okay. I took a red eye fly to new york and was hopping to check in early in the morning. The staff told me all rooms were completely sold out the previous night so there was no way for early check in. That was strange considering I...

Issues with this hotel started at the time of reservation. I went online and saw there was a breakfast special wiith a spectacular king room if you are an SPG Member. I ddn't book it right then and instead called the next day to book the room. I told her I was an SPG Member and the woman quoted me...

Booked a room through the W website after their sales rep said they had no specials and the website was the best place to get the best rates. After I prepaid for a room I noticed they did have specials, but were hidden. When I called to see if they would honor those after being told the wrong information by...

Trendy, great service, clean, excellent location. Small room size even for our upgraded "spectacular" room; but I guess ok for a room in NYC. We paid $205/night...not bad for Memorial Day weekend. They had complimentary transportation which we used one evening. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which was really good.

... because it did not meet my expectations. The lobby is a mix of bar, lobby and disco. I arrived in the evening and the music was so loud I could not listen to what the receptionist was saying. Everything is quite trendy and hype ...but really not in such a way you feel welcomed. I was given a tiny...

We stayed at the W on Lex for three nights in early June. We made the reservations through spg.com and received a good rate ($250) for NYC. We were upgraded to a wonderful room, which we were excited about since we are spg Gold members. The room was still small in comparison to other hotel rooms but we were in...

We stayed at the the property for 4 days in June. From the moment we checked in (we were able to get into our room at 8am!), to the moment we checked out, every associate we encountered was terrific! Genuinely friendly and wanting to please. Liz at the front desk must get special mention as she set the tone for...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
