The rooms are tiny. I cant even turn around without hitting something. I was in a 2 person room. With one set of bunk beds, a desk(which is totally unnecessary), and a massive box tv that doesn't work. There is also a mini fridge which as a half board place is understandable, but it doesn't work. There is no where...

Rooms are clean, extremely small. I read reviews and was well warned. I don't mind small spaces and found the room to be adequate. The bed was comfortable. The room ran hot but the window opened and allowed the cool air in. The staff wasn't friendly, but they are volunteers. I had a room within the shared bathrooms area, I...

20 Minute walk to Times Square literally in a straight line. 15 min walk to top of the rock. And not to far from grand central station. Lovely people working the from desk. Made my stay in NYC easy. Thanks!

For the price relative to other NYC lodging options, the Vanderbilt YMCA is not a bad deal by any means. The Room: Room was bare bones, but comfortable. Room was clean, and had both heat as well as an airconditioner. I was right across from the bathroom and never heard anything all night. The Bathroom: Being in a single room,...

We got there before check in time and they would keep our luggage stored for a fee. It is a gym that has the upper part made hostel which is quite confusing at the beginning whenever you enter. There was a burned plug in our room so whenever we accidentally used it, a spark came out and the fuse went...

I enjoyed my stay overall. The "cable channels" were just broadcast stations & the remote didn't work. But the room was warm, bed cozy, & the in-room fridge & 4th floor kitchen helped save $ on meals.

The location was good, most of the sights were reachable by foot, others by metro through Grand Central station. Very small room, uncomfortable bed, not enough toilets for the whole floor. The view was terrible. Low value for the price.

No cotton filled quilts.Only on thin layer cloth blanket.Rooms are too narrow.Heating is on and off during the night.Wifi is off for days and no staff seems care about it.Bathrooms regularly are enough and clean but door card is locked up very frequently.Price is not that cheap actually.

I travel a lot, and I have experienced all different accommodations, from a luxury hotel going to a cheap hostel and I have to say that this Hostel is more like a hotel. The experience was just great, great staff, great facilities (including a massive gym for free) and nice rooms. Location is just perfect!!! 5min walking from times square

Literally the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. We payed a lot to stay here and honestly I would rather pay that little bit more and stay somewhere so much nicer. Don't be fooled by the reviews. The rooms were so small, with 2 of us in the room we couldn't even open our suitcases. The heaters in the room...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
