The good - great location near Grand Central Station in quietish Murray Hill. Reception and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. The bad - dim lighting in elevators and rooms needs updating. Air conditioning not great either. The should do better - hot water to make drinks unavailable between late evening and breakfast. Breakfast was mediocre buffet of...

A lovely hotel in The center of Manhattan with walking distance to so many places. Nice and tids rooms. A small but fair breakfast is included in The price. A little bit too expensive in relation to what you get.

We stayed in a double on the 11th floor of this midrange hotel in East Midtown. From the outside the hotel is not very conspicuous. In fact, there are no signs advertising the hotel, just the house number. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. Bathroom is adequate with a good shower, wash basin,...

This hotel was lovely; staff were friendly, great location and the room was lovely. I have been to NYC 3 times and sometimes rooms can be very small for the price, this was not the case here. The room was adequately sized, clean and had all the facilities you wanted- iron, hairdryer, robe, etc. They also had an umbrella, which...

We have just come back from spending a week at Morgan's for thanksgiving & my birthday, it's a lovely friendly hotel and if your lucky enough to be at the front of the hotel you'll have a great view of the Empire State. Rooms are nice, a few people have mentioned about the lighting it didn't particularly bother us but...

Not too fancy but excellent location, service and quite acceptable breakfast included in our price. The room was quite small but tidy and the bed was in very good condition. We would definitely recommend .this hotel to our friends.

We booked a junior suite for our stay at the Morgan and, other than some inconveniences, were happy. We had a plumbing problem with the bathtub and sink that was difficult to resolve. Nevertheless, we have stayed here quite often and recommend it highly. The beds are comfortable, the location is convenient for the theater and downtown dining.the front desk...

The room felt a little grubby, stains on the settee gave me a general uneasiness, reported to housekeeping but not addressed during a five day stay, disappointing. We were unfamiliar (and due to uncleanliness - uninclined) with daily tipping of housekeeping staff and experienced passive aggressive actions from housekeeping like taking but not replacing towels, refilling conditioner not shampoo and...

The Morgan is in a great location. Close to Grand Central Terminal, the New York Public Library, Fifth Avenue and so much more in midtown Manhattan as well as the Murray Hill area. Very clean. Staff always smiled. It's located on Madison Avenue which is nice and quiet away from the real hustle and bustle of NYC.

Our tradition is to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving in New York City. Morgans is also part of that tradition and always enjoyable. What could be better for the soul than shopping, a show and good food?!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
From the moment it opened its doors on Madison Avenue in New York City, Morgans startled the world with a convention-shattering attitude and distinctive design sensibility, concocted by legendary designer Andree Putman. Again in 2008, Morgans unveiled Andree Putman's powerful reinterpretation of the first "boutique hotel" that propels Morgans' spirit forward without changing its unique character. Other features include a state of the art fitness center. Conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, Morgans is just steps to Grand Central Station, Macy's Herald Square, and The Morgan Library Museum. Morgans offers complimentary Continental breakfast and wireless internet access to every hotel guest. ... more   less
