I recently stayed at the Jane for, well, forever :-) I had booked 18 nights with them for my stay in NYC and here's some of what I thought. Pros: -> Absolutely loved the location - in the Meatpacking District, within walking distance to everywhere in the Village. This was great for dining - so many options and it felt...

Great hotel and friendly staff but if jet lagged brits who cannot party all night the disco from 12 midnight to 4 am is an ordeal .The staff could at least provide earplugs or put you at the front of the hotel for the thursday /friday /saturday disco experience .Unless you are out there of course . However we would...

The Jane, in the west village was great. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Two blocks from a grocery and bus stop. Walkable to 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park, the Seaport, Chinatown, Little Italy. Price was such a lucky find. They even have free bicycle use.

Really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay again. We had a Captains Cabin and had plenty of space with an en-suite bathroom. The hotel is charming and beautifully decorated and the staff were all very helpful. The area is fantastic with plenty of restaurants and is only a ten minute walk to a subway - great to return to...

The Jane is in an ideal location for enjoying restaurants, walking, biking and loafing. The hotel itself has a unique kind of vintage charm. The rooms are based on those of a ship. We stayed in a "cabin" of 50 square feet with bunk beds....and, all such rooms share one of two bathrooms on each floor...wanted to try this experience!...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in October 2013. The room is absolutely tiny however this is expected and you get used to it. The bunks are snug but there is free wifi, a flat screen tv for each bunk and the hotel even hand out free ipads or laptops if you need one. There are also free bike rentals...

I was so excited to give this hotel a try as I am over paying a small fortune for a few nights stay in the city. I've never stayed in a hostel and I'm used to business and resort class hotels. That said, all I need when I come to NYC is a clean, safe, comfortable, quiet place to stay...

I really liked this hotel, it is located in a really interesting part of New York with lovely restaurants and bars nearby. The Jane is a nifty hotel in a great location. The location on the corner of Jane and West streets means that you are real close to all the action that goes on in Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking district. The rooms are small, other people have commented on this, but this is New York City and the only thing...

Lovely quaint hotel, great restaurant, pleasant service, good value.Loved using the bikes. I was puzzled by the cigaret smell in the hallway coming out of the elevator, I thought New York does not allow smoking rooms, but otherwise no issues.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
