What you would normally expect from a three star hotel. No frills and small rooms. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. My driver from the airport took me to the Hudson hotel. If you are not from NYC you wouldn't know that Hudson Hotel and 36 Hudson Hotel are two different hotels. If you are from out... More

No frills, small room, but quiet, helpful staff. Close enough to midtown to walk to Times Square, but far enough out to be family quiet. Rooms small but comfortable. Air con unit in room was loud, but in mid Aug heatwave it needed to be on. Slightly rough neighbourhood. But always felt safe

At the edge of Hell's Kitchen, west-side and near the skyline walk begins, this small boutique hotel is well very located. The room however is very small. So small in fact that you have to go outside to change your mind! Boom, boom! It is New York. To balance this, the room is very clean and the bathroom a comfortable... More

Room was tiny. Could barely fit my case anywhere because the bed took up almost all the room. Door wouldn't close properly. But was fixed quickly so that was a plus. Not in a great neighbourhood either. Hard to feel safe walking to and from. Staff were very helpful and friendly though.

I had an issue with booking this hotel online so I ended up calling the hotel and they were more than happy to help me over the phone. I explained that I needed a room that was as far away from noise as possible since I am a very light sleeper. I also needed an early check in and late... More

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The wi-fi didn't work, the shade didn't shut out the light, and the only drinking water was in the dingy basement. In addition, the towels were covered in hair, the neighborhood was questionable and the front desk staff was rude. I would never recommend this hotel.

We stayed at 36 Hudson hotel for 11 days. The location is fantastic as you can walk everywhere! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean but are on the small but then again we were in New York! Very close to the High Line for a morning walk, close to Chelsea market, Times Square and Broadway.

Good 3-Star place for nice weekend getaway. Near Javitz CC, easy walk to Time Square without the maniacal pedestrian traffic right outside your door. We'll be back because of this and the decent price for NYC.

Good location in short walking distance from Times Square, Central park. To NY standards actually a big room for a reasonable price. Although I needed to be in a different hotel, I was happy to stay here.

...this is not a hotel for business travelers I'm afraid. It was at least clean but I had expected more from an establishment marketed at business travellers. I think it would be fine for a personal trip on a budget but if you plan to be in NYC for business and you can go a bit higher/a bit further east,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
