If you are looking for as cheap as it gets, this hotel is for you. I've noticed some of the reviews of this place have been less than favourable, however you pay for what you get; basic rooms and basic service that does the job. Besides, the location is good and it gives you a better feel for NYC than,...

Everything written by the past reviewers were true. Small rooms, thin walls, so-so neighborhood, convenient location, tiny elevator. Personally I was looking for a place to crash after a late nite out on the town. The price was right for me and a friend as we split the costs for a 2-bed room. Mattresses were better than expected. Bathroom was...

I read the other reviews for this hotel the day before leaving for NYC. I was quite afraid! Once I arrived, I noticed the drab exterior of the hotel. The lobby was not very much more inviting, but the staff were helpful and accomdating. My family had originally reserved two rooms, but the hotel was overbooked so they changed us...

As soon as you enter this grubby hotel your heart sinks. The only elevator can hold one person and a case. The whole hotel smells of bleach. My double room was aprox nine feet by nine feet - no window, heater hanging off wall (no AC), lights did not work, no bedcovers just dirty looking blankets. Try to complain and...

I am having a hard time even reveiwing this hotel. It was such a strange experience. The room itself was clean and the front desk staff were actually very nice. We only stayed for one night, so it was an amusing experience as opposed to a horrifying one. If we had to stay more than one or two nights it...

I would not stay here even if they pay me. The WORST hotel at which I've ever stayed. It's 10 times worse than what you can possibly imagine of a bad hotel. It's so very nasty. I couldn't stand it even with my eyes closed.

Just returned from NYC, hotel had its pros and cons. Pros: Hotel is cheap, economical and fairly good for the price. Very close to everything, just a couple of blocks (<5min walk to Timesquare), 1 block from grays papaya (mmmmMMM). Close to subway, pretty much all trains. Cons: Service is very minimal. At check-in they gave us the wrong room...

I was naturally a little perturbed by the other reviews about this hotel and my prejudices were given more credence when I saw our hotel lobby was effectively a door between a Chinese restaurant and an internet café. However, there was an extremely friendly and pretty girl in reception who upgraded us to a 3 bedroom suite (between two of...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
