The king deluxe room was kind of small and not that space efficient. It wasn't able to open 2 suitcases at the same time without blocking most parts of the rooms floor. One side of the bed missed a nighttable.

Looking for a cozy well appointed hotel at the heart of NYC, well look no further! Located in the shadow of NYC's most iconic skyscraper the Empire State Building and only a 15 min walk to Times Square this hotel is perfectly located. Obviously recently renovated; this hotel oozes boho chic (although the bar decor is not to my taste...

The hotel is located right near the Empire State Building. The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern and - perhaps most importantly - the bed was really comfortable.

HGU is well-located, on a block between the subway and the bus. The lobby and rooms are modern with a good design aesthetic. Also worth noting, the Bigelow bath products and Dean & DeLuca snacks in the mini-bar. Just be careful not to book a room on the alley if you sleep with the windows open. The vents are noisy.

We choosed this hotel because of its location; there is a subway station nearby where passes the 6 line. Its located midtown, next to some of the principal touristic sites and, with the proximity to the subway, we could get anywhere. The staff are great; there room are confortable and very clean. The restaurant is a little bit expensive, but...

What a great find the HGU was. Rooms were small but very clean and well appointed. Staff is super friendly and made our stay great. Only disappointment was that the lounge closed at 11:00 pm on a Friday night. Would have been nice to sit and have a drink after the concert. Will definitely return to this hotel

This hotel was just remodeled by its new owners and it's perfect. Very attentive staff and inviting bar to relax with a refreshing cocktail. A great location, subway station at the corner connections to all lines. We'll be back!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
