The hotel is relatively cheap but it's just not worth it. No breakfast, shared bathrooms, rain on the radiator outside makes the room really noisy. The rooms are clean though. Wouldn't really recommend.
Hotel was in a great location near to some of the main sights and easy to get to by the subway. Great value for money considering the location. Needs a little updating but we knew this already and afterall, you're in NY to see the...More
We recently stayed at Hotel 31 in NYC, just 10 blocks south of Grand Central Station and 1-1/2 blocks from the 33rd St #6 subway stop. Although we were in a room with a shared bath down the hall, 4 rooms shared 2 bathrooms and...More
If there was 0 stars I would definetely give it to that horrendous hotel, they got our reservation wrong and made us pay for plenty of things that we already payed. Gross attention (Just one person was nice to us) the receptionist was a very...More
Spent one night at Hotel 31. Well located a few minutes walk from 33st subway station on a quiet ( for NYC) Road. At $167 for a double room it’s great value for central NYC. Due no doubt to the shared bathroom. This was fine...More

I did that once and will never again I had booked the shuttle to and from the hotel, both times the drivers were terrible. On the way to the hotel I told the driver that we were almost there just 2 streets down and one block further but he told me everybody wants to get their first and went all the way to 35 W and some other drop-offs to come back to our address, then I noticed besides me there was another couple going to Hotel 31 - so we were 3 out of 8 passengers and he dropped us last. On the way back to the airport the driver (different driver) was going to pick up another passenger and was searching forever for the address until another passenger in the van told him that he is looking for the house-# on the wrong side of the street. Save yourself the stress and pay the set fee for the taxi, which is a little more then double then the shuttle (in my case being solo traveler = for 2 persons probable just slightly more then the shuttle-price) but well worth it.
