Hotel's Favourite
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Scherman. Without doubt the best hotel we have stayed in in New York, nothing was to much trouble for the staff at the front desk. Mo was outstanding managing any luggage or room issues. The housekeeping staff did an impeccable job maintaining the room both ensuring the toiletries and coffee pods were replenished daily. The breakfast facilities were as described and served with a smile and nice conversation. We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends and family and hope to visit again sometime in the future. Thank you Hotel Scherman, we absolutely loved it!

NYC is certainly a different place during the pandemic, but it was nice to find a brilliant oasis in midtown NYC. I had business in NYC and was also going to meet with friends and the Hotel Scherman provided a fantastic hotel experience. The hotel is on Restaurant Row, which is now lined with outdoor dining, so you'll certainly find a cuisine that meets your needs.
I had reserved the penthouse suite, which offers a great view of the East side from the personal balcony. The bedrooms were spotless and super comfortable, with a sitting area and big screen tv that offers a very relaxing environment. There's a roof terrace as well.
While the rooms and amenities were great, the what makes The Hotel Scherman truly memorable are the staff, led by the GM Eric. In a Covid world you certainly want to feel safe in the environment and their team has taken every precaution for their guests' safety. Masks, hand sanitizers, wipes are all available.
I'm not sure when I will be back in NYC again, but I will book The Hotel Scherman when I do return.
Thank you for a great stay

After years of staying in large impersonal NY hotels we were thrilled to find The French Quarters. From the minute we arrived and were greeted by General Manager Eric it felt like home. Our two bedroom two bath apt (#402) was clean and comfortably accommodated 4 adults. The large balcony was a nice addition even though it was too cold to utilize. The location was exceptionally quiet for NYC. There is a very nice continental breakfast available - includes juices, coffee (no decaf), teas, pastries, boiled eggs, etc. The room refrigerator was also stocked with bottled water and creamers for Keurig coffee maker. (Also plenty of coffee pods to chose from.) Location is very convenient to theaters and restaurants.

At first I almost overlooked this hotel because 1) Their website was still under construction and I had to call to see how to making a reservation which they suggested 2 methods one of which was through booking.com. As I searched online to other NY hotels I was disappointed by the choice of so many corporate chain hotels and reviews of bed bugs and was looking for a smaller boutique personalized hotel, so I came back and booked this one. Let me just say, that EVERY single person who worked in this hotel was very polite, and hospitable. 5 reasons to book this hotel: 1) Free breakfast (includes buttery fresh croissants, breads, nutella, honey, cream cheese, marmalade/jam instant coffee, oatmeal milk, Organic milk, fruit choices, teas, muffins, cereal, hard-boiled egg, etc 2) Impeccable team, sorry I don't remember names, at least 6 people (young friendly man breakfast person, polite tall German/American manager perhaps who dusted off a crumb at the breakfast area (attention to detail person which I appreciate), two friendly polite women (blonde hair /curly hair) next to elevator, and the gentleman who helped me book my Uber on the last day. 3) Very clean room and bathroom: I should add that though I did not interact with the housekeepers at this facility (since I was out most of the day), they deserve credit too as the room was spotless, pillows/sheets smelled cleaned and the bathroom was spotless which is not easy with mostly white tiles! Yes, even our mini-fridge and air vent was clean. So if cleanliness, especially in COVID times is important to you, then this hotel is doing their best. They also offer hand sanitizer and masks when you walk in. As a healthcare business owner, I appreciate a service-oriented business who makes an effort of cleanliness and offering masks/hand sanitizers at different areas in the hotel. LOCATION:

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Scherman. The hotel is done up really nicely, very moden. The amenities are great. I understand that it could be noisy when there isn't a pandemic going on but we had no issue with noise. If you want a lovely hotel on Restaurant Row, just 2 blocks from Times Square it is a tiny price to pay.
Negatives: The king room was a little small. We had to ask twice before the toiletries and coffee pods were refreshed.
Positives: location location location, friendly staff, SUPER comfy bed, great smelling toiletries - and the microwave was really handy for those having to quarantine.

Nice place to stay!
Since we arrived until the day we left, the attention given here was wonderful. Gustavo was really nice to us, even he got us a taxi to ger back to the airport and carried our luggage the entire block!
The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy and everything was very clean. They changed the towels every single day wich was nice, remembering that many hotels dont offer this service during covid.
The rooftoop is beautiful! We used it two times and it was epty, just for us! It has some really nice views during day and night.
The breakfast was ok. It would be nicer if they had offer some variations because everyday was served the same. Also the cutlery was washed with a dishwasher and they werent sooo clean… but everything was good anyways
The street also is nice, very quiet and closed to the vehicles during the afternoon and night, so the street is pretty quiet almost all the time. And most important, it was a really safe place to stay, in comparison to other hotels in the same price range.
Definitely would come back!

I am so glad I booked this hotel for our stay in New York. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very cosy. They're also pretty large for NYC rooms, and the smaller rooms have a stovetop and fridge you can use to prepare some of your own meals (a life saver in a very expensive city).
But the star of our stay was the staff. We fell ill on our last day and weren't able to fly home for another two days. The staff were wonderful about putting us in another room to extend our stay and even helped us book a nearby hotel when they were all booked out for our last night. Every staff member was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, with great advice and recommendations about the city. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had every thing we needed.

This was our first time back to visit NYC since covid. We were looking for something convenient and walkable that would allow us to maximize our time and reduce travel time during our 3-day stay. Hotel Scherman is a beautiful, historic small hotel right in Hell's Kitchen, on Restaurant Row. We were easily able to walk or take the subway to many destinations throughout the city. Having read other reviews about the noise of the active street below, we asked for a quieter room in the back of the building. It was extremely quiet, and easily accommodated our party of 4. The private outdoor space outside our suite was lovely, and there were gorgeous views in all directions. There is also a roof deck which was equally relaxing and gorgeous. The kitchenette was very convenient for storing and eating leftovers.
The staff was very professional and polite, and offered restaurant suggestions.
The breakfast was very convenient and the indoor/outdoor patio setting was absolutely beautiful. The food wasn't anything extensive or cooked, but it was plenty to get you started in the morning before heading out for more meals in NYC.
It was a great stay, and we hope to return before too long!

Just back from a weekend stay at Hotel Scherman their first weekend back. The Hotel Scherman is a beautiful home away from home and the staff is welcoming and accommodating. Eric and his team have taken every pandemic precaution (sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer on each floor by the elevator) and guests should feel very confident in their stay at Hotel Scherman while in New York. I look forward to my next stay.

+1
Absolutely loved our stay. It reminded me of a European hotel which I loved. We will definitely be back. Our family of 5 booked the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with a private balcony - loved all the space in the suite, the modern furnishings and the bathrooms were all very nicely updated. The absolute best part was the balcony that overlooked the street, we took some great pictures out there and really enjoyed having the outdoor space. We went to see Hamilton and this hotel is right down the street from the theatre, we couldn’t have asked for a better location. They even had a small continental breakfast which was unexpected. I have told all my friends about this gem and it’s going to be our spot of choice in NYC. Small con that’s not really a con just more to be aware - no parking and the lot we thought we could use didn’t do overnights so I would just look in advance.

Hi, ukdebdow!
There is no kettle in the room.
But there is a coffee and tea machine it everyday refilled it.
Have a great time in NYC!
We had a microwave in the room but beyond that, a tiny fridge and coffeemaker there was not much in the way of a kitchenette. Enough to warm up TV dinners, not to cook.
