Our suite was spacious and modern, although it was a bit tricky to figure out the lighting system. Sadly, the Dominick imposes a mandatory "destination fee" that disguises the actual per night cost unless you read the rate information carefully. The fee supposedly includes coffee on the 7th floor, but I found only an urn of pre-made regular coffee- no decaf offered. The front desk staff admitted that there should have been decaf as well. The fee soured us on the experience.
We picked the hotel based on the reviews and were absolutely delighted with our stay. This is a fantastic hotel- the staff, the rooms, the location, the whole experience is 5 star. The area is full of fantastic restaurants, bars and the general buzz of Soho- perfect access to the subway (almost directly outside the hotel), a handy convenience store and pharmacy opposite. Room wise, we went for the so-hi and requested a corner room- has great views over lower Manhattan, the Hudson River, and you can manoeuvre yourself to also see up towards Midtown. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough for if you’re considering a stay in New York!
When you get off a long flight and inch through traffic you want fast, efficient and happy people to welcome and check you in. Gabby changed my mood and made the stay better. Staff are great and hotel for the price is excellent
I was remarkably upgraded and that was a treat. I have been staying here for a long time (since the former name which shall not be named :) ) and the rooms/decor is well maintained and still okay. The pump shampoo/conditioner is GREAT GREAT GREAT. You have some of the best housekeeping in the industry. They set the bar. NEEDS: -You need TEA in the rooms. I drink coffee but like TEA too. -Better lighting in bathroom. The mirror light only lights HALF of the face. For women who put on make up and do hair this is insanely frustrating. And I get up before light- so no window light to use. PLEASE this is a huge one. -The plugs in the lights bedside didn't work/charge - A little 'graffiti' on the wall in the bathroom FYI. -Your doormen are hit or miss. I never once had someone open those insanely heavy doors for me. Not when leaving or entering. And yes, doormen standing right there. Seems they only focus on helping with luggage to get tips. Thank you for being amazing. Marcy Massura (Back in February, March and April!)…
I regularly frequent the Dominick on business and it is the only place I will stay across the city even for personal travel! The accommodations are clean and the entire staff continues to make it feel like home especially Gabby. The location is perfect with amazing restaurants and shopping near by. I highly recommend for your next stay!
I stay here regularly for business and always have a good experience. The Dominick is a beautiful hotel. Rooms are large, nice and clean with floor to ceiling windows. In my most recent trip, Gabby at the front desk was awesome: helpful, efficient and very friendly.
A quick note to say a huge thanks for taking care of me on my recent trip. Firstly, excellent location, rooms are tip top and the amenities are plentiful. Front desk is awesome. As a frequent visitor, I’ve gotten to know Gabriella and team well. Gabriella specifically is amazing. Everything is swift and floor-less. Her manner is professional and friendly. Always lovely to see a friendly face, she is a true ambassador to the hotel. It’s my first choice in NY. Thanks Dominic / and special thanks to Gabriella for making everything seamless. I always recommend the hotel to friends and colleagues.
We were hesitant to try to new hotel, but we had found the St. Regis staff to be rather cold with off putting on our last stay, and we prefer being further downtown. It was a breath of fresh air to be at The Dominick! Every person we encountered—doormen, bellmen, front desk, bartender, housekeeping—was really pleasant. We stayed in a Skyline two bedroom suit and it was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable with great views. One thing that I LOVE is the complete guest control over the heat/AC, so you can pick the temp that you prefer to be comfortable. The in room Nespresso is very convenient, and even the hair dryer is high performance. Linens are top notch, toiletries are Bulgari (same au thé blanc as the Ritz). Water pressure is excellent, and the bathrooms are very nice. The beds are medium firmness and the pillows are very soft and thin, for people who care about such things. If you’re allergic to dogs and asthmatic like me, this hotel is pet friendly but it’s not overrun by dogs like Kimptons. It’s NYC, so expect some noise; if honking car horns and yelling construction workers bug you, bring earplugs. My only complaint is that it’s dimly lit and there is literally no good lighting for makeup application after dusk; the bathroom mirror is lit from the left side so it’s hard to get direct light. I ended up going from room to room, lamp to lamp to see if I applied properly. If you wear makeup, bring a lighted mirror. The neighborhood can’t be beat with tons of good restaurants right there. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, and if you’re looking to ball out, the Skyline suites are beautiful. For us, this is now officially “our” hotel to which we will return for all our NYC trips. Many thanks to everyone at The Dominick for making our anniversary trip wonderful!…
As a world traveler, I frequent spaces that provide high end accommodations. My previous stay was the Bellagio penthouse suite in October 2022, everything about the stay, service and amenities were superb. My husband and I travel once a month for romantic getaways after 20 years of marriage, adult kids graduated and gone and my private practice is merely running itself. This is our time to create new memories for this phase of our life. First romantic trip of this year “The Dominick”. Upon arrival this hotel appeared average; as follows the room which is suppose to be a suite is average ( basic). The only suite feature in this room is the private bar w/private prices. The alcohol featured doesn’t reflect this room quality. My room doesn’t even include wine glasses, you have to call room service to get it, and it takes at least 40 plus minutes. Cafe is closed, the large restaurant onsite closed and the other eatery on site is subpar and had no host. My burger is still saying moo on the nightstand. There are drawings on the bathroom wall ( looks like maintenance may have done the drawings). The bed isn’t comfortable at all, the mattress is hard, it feels worn. The bedding given it is the dead of winter in NYC is inadequate. The price point is not commensurate with a 5 star/diamond hotel. When I checked in late last night, I desired to check right out. My husband insists we stay given we paid in full at check in and he doesn’t want to try trekking through NYC to find another room for one more day. Next time we will not be selecting this establishment. Forbes allegedly named this as a fine establishment. Perhaps that distinction was bestowed in error. On the plus side the bathtub is very deep. There is a television on the wall of the bathroom ( not in the mirror). The doors use keys not your mobile device. The decor is dated inside the room. The door man from tonight did grab the door, he just stood there looking at us. The robes aren’t plush and the slippers are none descript . By far this hotel has been one of the worst hotels , for which I stayed in the last 10 years. Essentially this place isn’t worth the money I paid in my opinion. Upon evaluating perhaps it is the view I am paying for to look at the Hudson, as that is the only feature that is okay. I so wanted to love this place , as it was the reviews that drew us in. I considered trying to reserve their penthouse or just switch rooms in the hotel. My spouse is a laid back individual, he recommended we just stay gone all day and return only to sleep. I am a person that travels for the hotel , food and theater. Essentially I am the person that spends more time in the room than out. My rooms are the vacation . The reason I will spend $500 to $6000 a night is for the experience. Next go around here will be at The Beekman.…
The hotel is wonderful! We will stay there in the future! The location is perfect for shopping, eating, and enjoying the city ambiance. The attention the staff gave to every detail was so impressive. We felt completely cared for and pampered! The room was immaculate and everyone we came in contact with was so pleasant! Definitely recommend this hotel!
