This hotel is perfect for those who want to be close to the action but don't like paying for it. The location is great! Within close walking distance from the High Line and all that Chelsea and Midtown has to offer. The rooms are a bit austere, but offer the basics: bed, clean linen, and hot water. Not all rooms...

Three friends and I stayed in three separate rooms for six days at the Leo House in the fall of 2014. We were well-pleased, and for NYC, the price was reasonable indeed. The rooms weren't palatial, nor should you expect them to be, but they were fairly spacious and very clean. The service staff do a first-rate job of keeping...

Good location for the price! The room was good. Service was good. I'll skip the breakfast buffet next time. Also, the private bath and renovated room next time. The chapel was a unique addition. Overall, for solo or couples travel, it's ok. But for a big group or family, not ok.

Locality of this hotel is excellent - we walked whole Manhattan from this place. Furniture is older but all is clean, bed is comfortable. Our room was quiet, oriented to courtyard. Breakfast (from Monday to Saturday) cost 9 USD / day / person and is delicious - there is big selection (eggs, bacon, pancakes, oatmeal, some cakes or donuts, fruit,...

I normally don't follow up with hotel reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for this one. The building as a whole is very nice and comfortable. The prices are reasonable, as they are a privately owned business and offer no tax on rooms. Everyone on staff is so nice and pleasant. A special thank you to the front...

Given the wide range of reviews, I was apprehensive when I opened the door to Leo House upon arriving in New York on Monday. My fears were nearly completely unfounded. The staff members, with one exception, were universally efficient, welcoming, and personable, and absolutely no one was rude or incompetent. The room had recently been newly carpeted and painted -...

We spend four weeks in the U.S. and we started our trip at the Leo House and ended it there. Our first room was not so nice as it needed renovation but it was clean and quiet and the bed was perfect. Furthermore, our luggage was lost by the airline when we came in and the staff working at the...

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
