This hotel was perfect for us! I read the reviews before I left and was a little worried about people's complaints but really, I had nothing to worry about.
Check in was seamless, they took my credit card details and held $300 but this was a hold and not a charge. We were informed about the weighted fridge, but told that should we need to chill any items they could bring a small fridge to our room. Obviously we didn't have to carry our own suitcases up, these were brought to us. In addition to the weighted fridge there is also a weighted display on the surface top, this has water, crisps and biscuits on, anything that's removed for longer than 10 seconds will get charged to your room.

The room itself was a great size, the bed was spectacular, my partner and I could both starfish and not be touching each other! It has a very comfortable mattress, we slept so well.
Being on the 6th floor there was some noise from the street but this is unavoidable, it's New York, famously a very busy and loud city!
Unless you're up 15 floors I expect some noise will be heard. The windows did an amazing job at blocking out about 80% but the bull horns on the fire engines/ambulances are LOUD!

We didn't eat here because it was a touch pricy and to be frank we didn't come all the way to New York to eat in a hotel. There are 100's of places to eat all within a 10/20 minute walk, my advice would be to go out there and explore.

If you come out of the hotel and turn right you will be walking towards times square itself, as well as Broadway. We booked The Lion King at Minskoff Theatre, literally 5 minute walk from the hotel, it was incredible.

The shower was a little difficult to work out initially and the pressure is not the best, but it worked and was hot enough!

I highly recommend this hotel both for location and for comfort, I would 100% stay here again

Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at the InterContinental New York Times Square. We are delighted to hear that the hotel exceeded your expectations and that our staff was able to ensure a seamless check-in process for you. It's great to know that the hold on your credit card and the information about the weighted fridge and display were clearly explained during your stay. We're glad that you found the room to be spacious and the bed to be incredibly comfortable, allowing you and your partner to get a restful sleep. While there might have been some unavoidable street noise due to the bustling city, we appreciate your understanding and the acknowledgement of our windows reducing the majority of noise. It's wonderful that you choose to explore the various dining options in the nearby area which indeed offers an abundance of choices. We're also happy to hear that you were able to enjoy the Lion King musical at the conveniently located Minskoff Theatre. We apologize if the shower pressure was not up to your expectations, but are glad that it was functional and hot enough for your needs. Your recommendation is highly appreciated, and we are thrilled that you would choose to stay at the InterContinental New York Times Square again. We can't wait to welcome you back on your next visit to New York. Alex K Social Media Manager

We stayed at the Intercontinental Times Square 16th Feb for 5 nights.
Upon arrival we were greeted warming by the door staff who helped with our baggage.
Check in was smooth, we had book 2 deluxe rooms and asked for 2 rooms together, we were instantly upgraded to Superior Rooms located on the 17th floor with fantastic views!
The rooms themselves were great with 2 large double beds which were VERY comfy and the bathrooms were large with a lovely rain shower.
The room also has a great Kureg coffee machine Which uses pods, as a tea drinker I was pleased to see the breakfast tea pods which were nice, we asked housekeeping for more tea pods which they delivered daily for us.

The hotel is in a great location and is ideally located just a few blocks from the Port Authority Bus Station, handy for catching the bus to Jersey Gardens outlet mail ($7 per person each way).
It is also located pretty much opposite the St James Theatre where we watched Frozen, can’t recommend this show enough it was simply amazing.
After long days exploring, we always looked forward to returning to our hotel as it was always warm and cosy and had a lovely clean smell every day!

We ordered room service once and this was delivered quickly and the food was lovely.

All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

I really cannot recommend this hotel enough it was simply wonderful and we would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to New York.

For anyone looking to stay here, the hotel does require a security deposit of $100 per room per day which is refundable upon check out providing nothing is broken etc, (the hold on my credit card was released upon check out and cleared from my card within a matter of days)
The hotel also collect resort fees of $35 per room per night, payable when checking out.

We arrived before 8am on an overnight flight and they got us into our hotel room right away and brought up the requested fridge while we were out that day. Room was comfortable as were the beds and the water was always hot. We ordered room service for breakfast one morning and it was hot and delish. We also ate the buffet breakfast but it was very overpriced for what it was, although they did not charge for our toddler. The door staff were amazing -remembering us and asking about our day and recommending some amazing places for food. The location of the hotel is excellent. 5 minute walk to The Lion King theatre and the center of Time Square. 15 minute walk to Rockerfeller Center. Many places to eat and shop and a taxi always passing by. We will definitely return here!

Me and my husband stayed at the Intercontinental in September 2019 for a 4 night stay. On arrival we where greeted by very friendly front of house staff, who, without request, upgraded us to a larger room on a higher floor which was really appreciated. The room was large, with a huge bed and flat screen TV on the wall - the room was cleaned to a high standard and the towels changed on a daily basis. The hotels location was perfect, right in the heart of the theatre district next to Time Square!

There where a number of subway stations nearby which made travelling around the city really easy. We didn't eat in the hotel, but we did grab a drink in the bar - the drinks took a long time to arrive and where a little overpriced but other than that it was a nice, clean bar.

On our departure from the hotel the staff outside flagging down taxis to take us to the airport where super friendly and very helpful!

On the whole we where really pleased with the hotel and I would 100% recommend the InterContinental.

This is a hotel in a great location by Times Square and lovely views of the city but my goodness some of the staff here are a so rude and really need training in customer service. How can you work in this type of work that is public facing and not know how to be friendly or helpful to paying customers?!! After a long flight from England arrived at the hotel and checked in at the desk. Didn’t get any offer to take our bags up or helps with our 4 cases as travelling around for few weeks. Didn’t get any information about how to get to our rooms so much so that we got lost and got into the wrong lift as different lifts go to different parts of the hotel - so had to wheel all our 4 cases back to the ground floor. Walked over to the check in desk and asked the check in / check out ambassador about how we could get to our rooms as we’d somehow ended up in the wrong lifts. She didn’t even bother to listen to the question and didn’t even look up from what she was typing to greet us and just shouted out “take the four lifts to the back” whatever that meant! When tried to ask exactly which ones she meant as there were different areas she just repeated it in a silly sarcastic mocking tone as though to mock us for being silly to ask about something like elevators which we had no idea about! How utterly rude and appalling. In all our trips we stay at IHG but my goodness the attitude of the staff in this place is just so ridiculous. Do not work in this kind of role if you don’t like people asking you questions! Also, how can you call yourself the check in / check out ambassador when you clearly should be helping people rather than making them feel silly for asking a question that is perfectly reasonable. Definitely felt was worth bringing this up with the front of house manager who apologised and said she would take it up with the staff. We were offered a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine which we refused as we are not sparkling wine drinkers. They then offered to for us to complimentary breakfast for our stay which they didn’t honour and when we asked about it met with another rude defensive front of house Person who said the vouchers are coming to your room which of-course have never arrived.
Complete let down and embarrassment to the intercontinental group! Everything else in the hotel is nice, the location, the rooms and the ambience. Shame about the front of house!

Stayed here for a week in a family room in February. we were upgraded at check in to a deluxe room on the 19th floor with a great view overlooking the Hudson and up 8th towards central Park. The hotel is well located, its one block east to Times Sq which is just far enough away and next to Broadway with Frozen and Harry Potter just next door. It has a subway station next door as well. Hotel amenities are good, check in was efficient and you get a $15 dollar a night credit which can be used for hotel services such as dining or laundry. We used room service a few times, they were efficient and chicken tenders were excellent. Room was good sized for a family of 4 with 2 double beds. Bathroom was good size with excellent shower. Only gripe is the electronic mini bar so if you move any items it automatically gets added to the bill (make sure you check bill for this). We used the concierge service to get beat the line tickets for the Empire state building. There are hundreds of places to eat within the area. for us we turned left onto the quieter 9th avenue and the excellent westay diner at the bottom of the block which is very highly rated and well worth breakfast. as already stated from here you can walk to times square in 5 mins, Empire state building in 15 and central park in 20 mins so very well located. Plenty of sirens in the streets all night (but it is new york) but hotel itself was very quiet, despite looking quite full. Would definitely return here again.

A very simple summary of the Intercontinental Times Square is:

- Top location for those who want to be as close to Times Square as possible.
- Great and helpful staff across the board.
- Refurbishment required.

We had an enjoyable stay at the property. It is only a five minute walk from Times Square for those who want to be in the midst of it all. That of course comes with the hustle and bustle that the locality brings!

Check in was smooth, however, despite our arrival at the advertised check in time, only one of our rooms was ready. The hotel had arranged for rooms opposite each other so we were happy to wait for them to be made up. We checked into one of the rooms until the second one was ready.

The rooms were big and spacious. The shower room was also spacious with complimentary Agraria amenities. With floor to ceiling windows we had great views across the city and the neighbouring buildings. In both our rooms, the mini bar items has not been replenished for the first two days we were there. A lot of used up items were left behind in the room and these were then charged to our room bill which was disappointing. The staff during check out were great and without questioning removed these from our bill.

During our stay, my mum had an accident and damaged her ankle which resulted in her being confined to a wheelchair. Again, the staff were incredible and looked after her everytime she needed to get in and out. The concierge worked fast to organise a wheelchair for us so we could continue to enjoy our visit.

The hotel did not exactly have a luxury 5* feel which I imagine it to be a result of its location and how busy it constantly is. I chose this hotel as it was my mum’s first trip to the city and wanted to locate her close to Times Square knowing what comes with it.

Breakfast, as well as all other meals are served at The Stinger restaurant. We did not intend on dining there given the many options available in New York City, however, following my mum’s accident we were a little more confined. Breakfast was a buffet which felt rather chaotic. There were enough cold and hot options as well as a wide bakery selection and fruit but things were running out quickly, particularly towards the end of breakfast. Furthermore, the dinner menu was quite limited in options but certainly has enough if you’re just planning on dining in once.

All in all, a good stay, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting the Times Square experience, but I personally prefer to be located further off Times Square.

The Intercontinental Times Square reopened after a hiatus and the service was impeccable as expected. Check in was very efficient at the ambassador desk. Plexiglass had been installed in check in areas, sanitizing dispensers were on each floor near the elevators. Spacing decals were noted on the floor in the elevators and around the hotel.

I had a breakfast package but the Stinger restaurant wasn’t open so I received a $25 gift card per day at Gregory coffee around the corner.

I had the studio sky suite which had an amazing view up / down 8th Avenue. The room was quiet. Housekeeping came daily.

The gym is well appointed and was empty when I used it.

Overall, another spectacular stay at the IC at Times Square.

Overall, I had a pleasant three-night stay at the InterContinental New York Times Square. The only disappointing part of my stay was I received a room with two double beds instead of the king room I had requested. The hotel claimed this was all that was available when I checked-in around 8pm on a Tuesday. However, I was given an "upgrade" to a Sky View room on the 30th floor with decent views of the city. The room was an adequate size given it's NYC. The bathroom had all the necessary amenities and although slippers and a robe were not initially provided they were brought to the room when requested.

One morning I had room service breakfast delivered and it was right on time and the avocado toast with eggs was rather tasty. As expected, the mini bar items were overpriced, but sometimes you just have to have that bottle of Fiji water. I wish all hotels would just provide complimentary bottled water.

The Times Square location is great if you are a tourist and want to see Broadway shows. I used to live in NYC and this is far from my favorite area of the city. Unfortunately, NYC is becoming more unsafe, but this is not the fault of the hotel. The next time I am in NYC for work, I will definitely consider staying here again.

Recently stayed in the Intercontinental Times Square while travelling for business. The hotel was in a great spot, close to Times Square but far enough away so there wasn’t too much noise. However was let down completely by the service. Our booking was incorrect on arrival (only 2 rooms showing instead of the 3 we had booked) and the staff were not willing to help until we gave them a print out of the original booking. When we were finally given rooms, we were told to come down the following morning and check if there were any better (King) rooms available, and when I went down the following morning the staff were incredibly rude and no help at all. Then, to top it all off, I was out all of the following day and came home to a hotel room that was completely unserviced. Would not stay here again as there are plenty of other great hotels in the vicinity.
