Despite booking and pre paying for a 'Delux room' over two months in advance, on arrival one was not available. We were instead placed in a room on the 3rd floor for the night with an apology that it may be a little noisy and an assurance that we would be moved to a better room for the remainder of...

Dear Smithawk: Thank you for choosing the InterContinental New York Times Square for your recent stay. We apologize that your room on the first evening did not meet your expectations. Dear Ryan: Thank you for choosing the InterContinental New York Times Square for your recent stay. We apologize for the inconvenience surrounding the incidental deposit. The hotel releases the funds the day that you check out, however, it can take up to 2-4 weeks for the banks to complete the release of authorization. It's a pity that I have stayed with many other intercontinental hotels in other countries, so far, intercontinental times square gave me the most negative feedback. they need to improve on customer service: friendlier front staff (no smile while I was doing check-in, very cold attitude), better...

Good friendly door staff and concierge. Great bar staff at breakfast. Clean rooms with a great view. Fantastic location between times square and hells kitchen. Subway station right next door. Didn't eat there as there is so much to eat nearby. Really good experience

Great hotel with friendly staff though we never ate there as there was so much to eat and do in New York. Great view (20th floor+ north or south facing but beware a corner room with 2 windowed walls were quite restricted view wise). Right next to the subway and bus station so transportation was not an issue.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
