We came in for an overnight stay for a family event. Everything about our stay was easy. We checked in ahead of time using the Marriott app, and so once we got to the hotel it was an incredibly fast process of picking up our room key and dropping off our car with the valet.

We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the room felt (we had a King City View), especially for a NYC hotel. The room and bed were super-comfortable, and had everything we needed.

We ended up not using it, but the fact that room TV's have the ability to connect your own Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu/HBO Go subscription so that you can watch whatever you want on the room TV is a really nice feature that I haven't seen in other hotels.

Everyone at the hotel was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. We were able to leave our bag for the early afternoon, and then coming back and getting it and our car from the valet was fast and easy.

We enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again - and recommend to others.

Thanks!

We had a romantic getaway with my husband and stayed at the hotel for one night. Everything was perfect! The room is a decent size and super clean, has a small fridge, safe and even an air purifier! Most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable and we had a perfect night sleep. I did not hear a single sound coming from the adjacent rooms - real good soundproof! The price for the night was so affordable, considering what you get in terms of the room itself and location! Will definitely return!

Here for a graduation which drove the price of this hotel up hugely as one would expect which always, unfairly, somewhat colors one's opinions of course! However we had a very comfortable stay here, where we were only really spending minimal time as we were out for graduation festivities most of the time.

First of all, and this obviously depends on where you need to be in the city, I think that this location is first class. There are subway stations within a minute of the door and this is line #1 which will whisk you quickly either up or downtown. This was a great boon to us during our stay. Alternatively, there is always a space kept at the curb outside the hotel, where Ubers can easily pull up and we never waited more than a couple of minutes for one, since they are ubiquitous in this part of town.

The hotel is surprisingly tall and thin! I wasn't expecting this for some reason, although I confess to not really doing that much research up front. The reception area is small and slightly set back from the street. Upon entry there is a check in desk or two to your right. The staff there were friendly enough but service was delivered in a slightly laissez-faire manner. This is probably to be expected at this brand level, but not at the price level of this particular stay. Not horrible, but slightly standoffish in delivery. Also in the reception area are several places to sit and a Starbucks with quite a few tables to work or relax.

There are two elevators and they require room key activation to reach the guest floors. The main entrance doors operate the same way after hours which means security on the guest floors should be good. The elevators are pretty old and sometimes a little slow! As I mentioned, the building is slim in design and so the guest floors are small. Surprisingly so I thought. We were on the 10th floor and I assume all floors are the same, and they only house 7 rooms. Nothing wrong with that of course but it means that the hotel is actually quite small, but this means the floors are quite quiet. At least they were on our visit.

The room itself was on the small side too, but formulaic for a chain hotel and perfectly comfortable. The bathroom has a walk in shower that is much to be preferred to an unusable tub, and seems to increasingly be the norm these days thank goodness. The room was fairly modern I thought, with plenty of USB ports to charge the ubiquitous electronics with which we all travel.

This isn't a full service hotel, so no lounge or dining room and your Bonvoy status, often so valuable in Marriott properties, doesn't seem to buy you a whole lot here. However, this is a nice place to stay and I would certainly do so again, but know what you are getting for the price. This is NYC at a peak time after all.

The room was dirty. There was an armoire and we placed folded suit bags on top. When we took them down, the bottoms were covered with large dust bunnies. Hasn’t been cleaned for 6 months or more.

Bring a roll of Bounty paper towels for they are more absorbent than the thin towels they provide.

Shampoo. One small bottle in a room with 2 double beds. Enough for 3 people with crew cuts or one person with short hair.

Fitness center. Your card key won’t get you in. Ask for the card at the front desk for entry. We did that and the card did not work either.

Small room. Think cruise ship may be bigger, but hey this is NY and the rate is reasonable. This one aspect is forgivable but the others are not.

Courtyard Marriott is a very central hotel in New York City, on busy Varick Street. Moderate pricing for Soho, but room and bathroom areas could be cleaner, with housekeeping only by request. Front Desk and General Manager were very helpful and professional.

This hotel is in a great location, only one block from the 1 train. The C/E trains at Spring Street are also very close, and the West 4th Street subway station is a short walk away. The hotel itself is nice, and the rooms are pretty big for Manhattan hotel rooms.

When we checked in, we were told the internet was down for the entire hotel, and it remained down for the first night, but was back up the following morning.

The service though, was not great. When we checked in, we were told that because of covid, housekeeping would not clean your room unless specifically requested. We were staying four nights and requested housekeeping come just one day. They never came. Since they didn't come, we had to call to request fresh towels. Nearly two hours went by and still no one came by with towels. So we had to call again. This was pretty disappointing service. Also, on Monday morning at 6am the alarm clock in our room went off. Normally housekeeping would clear out alarms when switching over the room. So the housekeeping service here seems pretty weak.

The hotel is clean and appears to be relatively new. The lobby area has a small dining & gathering area which was nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were clean and comfortable. Rooms were clean but very much on the small side. Seems that they maximized the footprint of the building - to the extent that the ice machine is in the cellar, accessible via a separate elevator. The bathroom was a decent size and well-stocked with towels and the tub/shower was equipped with soap/shampoo dispensers however the tiles needed a good scrubbing with bleach. But otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Stayed a Saturday and Sunday night. Quick and easy checkin. Room was clean and quiet despite being by the elevator. Beds were comfortable. Soap and shampoo are hooked in shower which avoids all the bottles and everyone has enough. We were able to park for free on the street and then moved to a garage Sunday night. No complaints.

Even though this hotel has extremely small rooms and a view facing the wall of the building next door, I have stayed here whenever I visit a client in SOHO because I have been a loyal Marriott customer for many years (Lifetime Titanium Elite status). During my last visit to NYC I had to cancel due to health reasons. I called the Marriott Bonvoy number 2 days before my scheduled reservation and canceled. I was told that my 48 hour cancellation was within the hotels 72 hour policy but my Lifetime Titanium Elite status provides me with same day cancellation privileges so 48 hour notice is good and I was issued the cancellation confirmation. The hotel still charged me the $360 for one night stay. I called the hotel directly and they told me their policy can over ride the Marriott Bonvoy policy. Not sure who to be more disappointed in, the hotel for sticking me with the $360 charge or the Marriott Bonvoy team who does not have a grasp of what the company policy is. The bottom line for me is to stop with the blind loyalty for Marriott properties and start opening up my options to other hotels. Just booked a 3 night visit to Philadelphia at the new Hyatt. Time to start opening up my hotel options to the best available.

This property really needs a refresh or a renovation; our room just felt old and stuffy. The room was small and cramped — try opening the closet and bathroom doors at the same time, but we were on a high floor with a view which was nice. The lobby is small and uninviting. But, the location is great, especially for walking access to SoHo and Tribeca — lots of dining and shopping options only minutes away on foot. Overall, even though I am loyal Marriott customer, I would not likely stay here again.

I had a couple of things shipped from Amazon when I stayed there in March. The only problem I had was receiving a package over the weekend. If USPS is delivering, they see the address as a business address & assume the business is closed, so they don't deliver until the next business day. One of my packages was supposed to be delivered on a Friday, but was weather delayed, so I got notified it would be delivered the following Monday. Funny thing - the post office is on the corner of the next block. I was at the post office when they opened on Saturday morning & still couldn't get my package because the package pick up window didn't open for another hour. They couldn't/wouldn't accommodate & get my package for me. Long story short, I cancelled my order, got refunded for the extra I paid for one day shipping & got refunded for the order. Give Courtyard a call & ask! They were happy to answer any & all questions we had while we were there!!
