First trip to New York and loved the city!! However the hotel/apartments let us down!
Great location - 5 min walk to Times Square.

Or second year staying at the metro apartments for seven nights was just as lovely as the first. Great hotel, great staff. We even were granted the room that we had requested (9c)

We stayed here for a short stay and loved its location to the theater district and Times Square. Our room was a decent size and clean, with a kitchenette. No frills, but clean. We overlooked the bus ramps for the Port Authority Bus terminal and...More
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Does anyone take travelers cheques these days and why would you want to use them in a place like New York when it is cheaper to take cash out of the hole in the wall?? I can understand carrying cheques when visiting the third world but not in the US. The hotel has a cash machine in the lobby, use a card - cheaper and safer.
