The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the city. Although the lobby is small, the staff were great. Always helpful with some great suggestions. The room itself was clean, a bit small, but quite comfortable by new york standards. The washroom was quite roomy with a nice shower and area for sink. The only problem was there were...

The room was so small, that my boyfriend and I could not pass each other without backing up against a wall first....in the hallway as well. It was literally like being in the smallest cruise ship hallway and room. Bathroom only big enough for a toilet, sink, and small shower. Our window view faced the building that wrapped around it,...

This hotel is not really my style in terms of decor etc. the rooms are very, very basic and in our case long and thin. The furniture is very 'MDF', grey walls and carpet and small bathroom with shower facility. However, the location of this hotel is phenomenal! Opposite the Rockafella, 30 seconds from fifth avenue and SAKs, 5 mins...

This was a great place to stay on my first visit to NYC. I was overwhelmed by the choices of hotels in Mid-Town. Normally, I search on my own, but after searching and still feeling like I was missing something, I called American Express Travel. Wow, what a gem this place is to stay. I will definitely stay here again....

I chose The Jewel because it had great reviews, 3+ stars, and was a great price -- a rare combination. However, after my first of 2 nights here, I see why. They cut costs in some very unique ways that allow them to offer you as much for less. E.g., most hotels put an iron and board in every room,...

My partner and I went with his 2 boys - ages 11 and 13 - to NYC for a few days. We wanted separate bedrooms and, in particular, separate bathrooms. We were worried we'd have to a) pay for 2 separate rooms and hope to get a door to join us or b) rent out some random apartment in Brooklyn....

Booked this hotel for a 4 night stay in New York. It was just perfect. Very good location, close to subway, 5 min walk to Times Square and Broadway, 5 min to Central Park, just across the road from Rockefeller Center. Room was quite big, tidy and perfectly cleaned every day. Bathroom was clean and shower was spacious and had...

We arrived at the hotel at 11:00am and were able to check in our room right away. The staff was pleasant. The room was small, but not cramped. The bathroom was small but very clean!! The bottles of waters were a nice touch- especially since it was over 90 degrees during our stay. It was close to the theatre (which was...

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary and it couldn't have been better. We arrived and were immediately assigned our room. The room was clean and large enough for the 2 of us. We stayed in a superior room with a kitchenette. It had a microwave and a fridge. Our room had a view of both Radio City and The...

We stayed at the Jewel for four nights at the end of June. The location was excellent, although no Restaurant onsite, there were loads nearby. Rooms were quite small, especially for one in our group who got the 'penthouse' room, which was extremely tiny, but it was more than made up for by the great service, and the little extras...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
