I chose this hotel because I am a Hyatt member and I wanted to be within walking distance of Madison Square Garden. Rooms are on the small side, but it's NYC so I was expecting that. Decor is modern. There's not much room for storage, so pack light. I was disappointed that I didn't get a room with a view...

Most everything about this place is small, and not in a positive way. The rooms (I had a deluxe King) were small even by New York standards. No closet space, no counter space and no counter space in the bathroom. The joke of a desk will barely hold a laptop and the desk "chair" is a small ottoman. The towels...

I stayed across the street at another hotel but visited this rooftop bar to get the night started. It's cozy but comfortable and the view of the city is beautiful. The drinks were good and the staff was very friendly.

Stayed at this property for 3 nights. Check in was quick and efficient however room given was on the lowest floor and without any view, reason given was full occupancy. Reception staff was friendly though. There was one strip of metal on the floor that was dangerously protruding next to carpet border. This was brought to their attention as anyone...

I recently stayed at this hotel and must say I was pretty disappointed from a hotel with the name Hyatt attached to it. Now my issue isn't to do with room size as its a given when in Manhattan you'll be a touch cramped. It's a few things that let this place down. First housekeeping. After first night room wasn't...

My family traveled to New York to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Since we wanted to see a couple of Broadway plays, we wanted to be close, but not stay in Times Square. This hotel had the perfect location for us. We easily walked a few blocks to the plays. We were treated wonderfully by the hotel staff from the minute...

The Hyatt Herald Square hotel is located very good to explore the big Apple. Very clean rooms and very friendly staff. It's good for the price you pay but nothing more then that. The bar is great! Much of the city highlights are at walking distance.

I liked this hotel. Polite and professional staffing at every turn. Hip and funky room decoration without sacrificing efficiency. Clean and well-serviced room, and the AC worked well during a heat wave (not always the case in NYC hotels). But the standard room was exceptionally small, so you may want to consider some sort of upgrade if you can. I...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
