The Draper New York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, enjoys a prime location that guests frequently commend for its convenience to attractions and quiet charm. The staff's friendly and efficient service often receives high marks, although some guests have encountered variability in service speed.
While the hotel's atmosphere is celebrated for its clean and modern design, travelers note the rooms are on the small side, impacting the perceived value, especially given the additional costs for parking and services. Cleanliness is another strong suit, but the hotel's amenities, including breakfast options, may leave something to be desired for some guests.

The location of the hotel was just far enough from Time Square to be affordable but close enough to make visiting manageable. Check in was easy and the room was clean. The room is very very small especially for 2 people and their luggage. There are some hooks on the wall to hang things and drawers under the bed. There’s a mini fridge (ours didn’t work but it wasn’t a big deal to us) and a coffee maker. There’s also a small desk next to the bed with a chair that we used to hold things. Make sure to keep the floor area completely clear or walking around the room could be difficult. The blinds in the room are amazing and make you believe 10am is 7am as no light leaks through. The only change I would make is the lighting. The light switch by the door controls all lights so if you want to watch tv in the bed you have to turn the lights off before you lay down or sleep with the lights on.

I'm enjoying my 4th day of a 7day stay at The Draper Hotel. The location is excellent for walking to theaters (less than a mile to all Broadway theaters), convenient to subways, buses, yet out of the noise of heavily-trafficked streets. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and convenient to shopping, restaurants, and nearby parks. Bed is comfortable, water is hot, interior noise is minimal since there are only 8 rooms per floor. Mini-fridge is a nice touch for keeping perishables accessible in the room.
The staff is friendly. Special shout-out to Sunny at the front desk who goes out of his way to make sure that guests are satisfied!

Me, my husband and 12 year old daughter stayed here for a week in November. I booked this hotel for its central location, good reviews and reasonable (by New York standards) price. The hotel is located mid town on West 37th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues so it’s good for a first visit to NYC as a lot of attractions are within walking distance and ideal if you want to go shopping on 5th Avenue. It’s a very busy area and if you are looking for a hotel in a relaxing area maybe look elsewhere. There are lots of places to eat and drink nearby but obviously nowhere cheap. You can stroll up to Times Square, Central Park (beautiful in the autumn), Met museum, Empire State etc. Grand Central and Penn stations close by. 34th Street Herald Square subway station is 5 minutes away and very useful as lines B D F M N Q R and W go through here. An unlimited 7 day metro card was just $34, great value, felt very safe too although we didn’t ride late at night. We had a room on the 12th floor with two double beds. It was clean and modern, the bed was comfy (bit soft for my liking but that’s just my personal preference), the shower was very good and I liked the fact that the window in the room was able to be opened (so many hotels now have sealed windows). Our room overlooked the street however the street noise wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. However, the room was very small and lacked virtually any storage. No drawers no wardrobe. Just a strange sort of rail about 18” long positioned directly above the coffee machine which is a really strange and impractical design choice. There was no net curtain on the window, so you had a choice of either pulling down the blackout roller blind or the people in the offices opposite being able to see straight in. On the plus side, there is a proper fridge. Note that the safe is in a drawer under the bed, we didn’t find it until we enquired at reception as to its whereabouts. This hotel has over 20 floors. There are just two lifts and no service lift and they are quite temperamental. They also bong loudly and the noise from them is audible in the rooms and can be quite annoying, especially at 5am. Also note that housekeeping is on request, which I actually quite like because it saves me having to nag the daughter to tidy her stuff up; for some reason housekeeping chose to clean the room and change the beds the day before we left, not sure why. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff on the front desk who were always very professional, friendly and helpful. I would say that with a few design tweaks this could be a very good hotel. Final note, a yellow taxi from JFK will cost about $70 with a tip. The hotel can arrange a car to the airport for $85 plus tax plus tip ($85 is not the total price, despite what they tell you on reception!)

This hotel property has only been open about a year and so it feels fresh and very clean at a great price. The service and staff were very helpful. This hotel is in an ideal location if you want to go down 5th Ave or head to Broadway/Times Square. (about half a mile to walk to most locations). As with many properties in NYC, the rooms are small, but they are well designed so it didn’t inhibit our enjoyment. We would definitely stay here again.

I chose this hotel based on location in proximity to shows and MSG partly because we wanted these things within walking distance, but not in the full chaos of Times Square. Opted for 23rd floor suite for a girls' trip to give us ample space. The room itself was fantastic with a great view. Beds were comfy, all was clean, and most of all we had plenty of room -- hard to come by in NYC. Not having daily cleaning service was not an issue for us, but I can see where others would find this as a missing element. The staff in the lobby were extremely pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The only major downside was not having the cafe available in the lobby. The ability to grab coffee or a pastry or something for breakfast without having to venture out is something I would definitely prefer for a future trip. We ended up door dashing a few times to make up for this, which served its purpose... but when the photos of the hotel clearly feature a cafe (which looks amazing!) it should be up and running. The "not available due to covid" doesn't fly as a valid excuse for me anymore. Overall, we had a great stay. If the cafe were open I would stay here again WITHOUT HESITATION but provide this feedback because I think it's important to allow businesses the opportunity to hear honest feedback in a competitive environment, and this is the only thing that falls short of 5 stars.

Girls trip visiting New York City with my daughter. We enjoyed the Draper very much. We arrived on an early flight and our room was available so we were able to unpack and get on with our day. As with all NYC hotels the room was small but adequate. There was no closet but there was a small rod with hangers over the mini fridge and hooks for coats, scarves and purses to hang on.
There was a full size desk with a mirror which we used as a vanity to dry our hair and do make up. We really appreciated the 4 outlets on the desk so I could have my phone laptop and watch all charging on one side of the bed while she had more plugs on her side for her electronics. The bed was very comfortable and a true King not a smaller “New York king” many hotels try to pass off. The bathroom was spotless and seemed to be newly re-tiled. They did not have daily maid service which I prefer during this Covid era. I don’t want anyone in the room breathing on my things and I was able to get fresh towels everyday. The front desk staff were so helpful directing us to different restaurants and helping with transportation. I loved the location near Times Square and Bryant Park which I fell in love with on this trip. We had a late flight and they held our luggage for us until our flight.
I would recommend the Draper to anyone who loves boutique hotels this is the finest one we have stayed in.

Our stay at the Draper was quite good overall. The room was relatively small, but comparable to other hotels in the city we've stayed in. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, and the price was better than nearly all other hotels in the area. Finally, the location was excellent: it was within a 10 minute walk of several subway stops, giving a lot of flexibility, and walking distance to Times Square, the Empire State Building, and many other attractions, while still being far enough so that the street didn't have too much noise (for New York). The only minor improvement would be if the hotel offered a small complimentary breakfast; even a grab and go bag might make it even more competitive with nearby hotels. Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Really enjoyed my 5-day stay at The Draper! The staff is incredible. Mohammed was the person at the desk most of the time I was here, and he's a five-star human being. He helped us find amazing places to eat, and has been a friendly face greeting us at each coming and going.
The room & hotel are very nicely designed; everything is stylish and clean. I had a two-double bed room with a city view, and it was perfect. The beds & pillows are extremely comfortable, and the room was very quiet; I never heard noise from the street or from other rooms. Slept great. While the HVAC fan in the room was pretty noisy, because it was constant, it was just brown noise and didn't bother me.
The hotel uses the space in the rooms super cleverly, such that it genuinely feels cozy and not like you are lacking for space. Still, I got the two double beds so I could put my suitcase on one of them, and that worked really well; I recommend it.
The hotel keeps itself affordable by *not* doing housekeeping during your actual stay unless you ask for it, and I discovered I'm a big fan of this. Elsewhere, I find it annoying and stressful that they send housekeeping around every single morning. I like this hotel's approach better.
All around, it's been a great stay! I would definitely stay here again.

I booked 7 nights in a King Room City View (room 1801) via Choice Hotels for $872/£707 ($125/£101 avg per night), free cancallation up until a few days before and also recieved nearly 8,000 Choice Points for the booking. No resort fees/city tax had to be payed at check out, card was charged $120 the day before arrival to secure booking then refunded a few days later and paid around $120 damage deposit which was refunded shortly after stay.
Room was perfect for a solo traveller, large TV with chromecast, fridge, safe, coffee maker and storage. May struggle storage wise for 2. Bathroom was stocked well with towels, wash cloths, shampoo and body wash. Housekeeping had to be booked 1 day in advance although towels/toiletries could be requested anytime. There also was access to vending machines, ice machines and microwave/cafe which I did not use. My city view was facing uptown had noted in my booking special instructions and emailed to request a view of the Empire State Building although had no response. The King Room with no city was $807 for my dates, in future I would likely not opt for the city view in this property.
No issues with elevators, serviced by 2 and never had to wait.
Hotel is situated in a safe and quiet area, had no issues coming and going at all times. Walking distance to 34th St Herald Sq subway and Times Sqaure.
Will definitely stay again if can get at the same rate.

Get a cab. Fixed rate at $52
I booked directly through the Hotel Website so everything was on my receipt. No surprises when I checked in.
We used SPOTHERO app to find the parking near this hotel. The parking was super cheap. We paid $25 per day for the parking which was safe and absolutely fine. The hotel parking is obviously expensive.
