Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza is celebrated for its prime location, with guests enjoying the ease of visiting nearby attractions. However, the hotel faces criticism for its value proposition, as guests feel mandatory fees and overpriced services don't match the cost of their stay. Room opinions are divided, with guests appreciating the space and cleanliness but pointing out the outdated decor and maintenance issues. Service quality is another point of contention, with numerous reports of unhelpful and rude staff. While some travelers find the amenities satisfactory, others are disappointed by additional charges for services they deem unnecessary. The atmosphere receives a mixed response, with the need for modern updates balanced against the comfort of the rooms.

The worst hotel experience ever. I have never written a review for hotels before and the experience I had compelled me to write a review so people are aware. I never understood people complaining about the "service" aspect of hotels until I dealt with the staff working at this property. 1. They falsely advertised the 2br suite. When we raised the issue, the manager did not believe our complaint was valid and had to send someone up with a tape measure. The employee confirmed the bed was not a queen, but rather a full sized bed. We could not get a hold of anyone about this issue until the day after making multiple phone calls. 2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH ANYONE FOR ANYTHING. We called the front desk to ask for utensils, earplugs, and a late check out. People rarely pick up the phone morning, daytime, and evening. We were told that "90% of guests are diamond and we can't help you" along with many interesting comments and behaviors that you wouldn't even see at their lowest level brand, Homewood Suites. Just save your $ somewhere and stay anywhere but here. We ended up going to a different hotel (arguably a lower brand) and were so relieved that people treat you like guests with a proper hello and eye contact.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is in a nice and quiet location but close to many attractions.. It is walkable to St Patrick’s Cathedral, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza, MoMA, Times Square, Grand central Station and Fifth Ave Shopping…The hotel upgraded us to a beautiful Corner Suite on 35 th floor with great views of the city and the river. Staff was fantastic, room was very clean and services were outstanding… I highly recommend this hotel.. I know I will be back and would stay here again. UN is right around the corner and just a short walk to a great Italian restaurant… we went twice..

The hotel unfortunately does not present as well as the advertising .. rooms are tired (however the housekeeping ensures that they are spotless) … no exec lounge and as a diamond member the locations you can spend your f and b credit are limited. The lifts rattle up and down and you just hope there is not an issue .. Parts of the hotel are locked off or alarmed so you are advised not to enter … the onsite restaurant is a bit of a joke …

The bed is hard but the pillows are soft. The room has a mildew smell. The bathroom was updated and nice. I would not stay here again. I’m don’t like the $30 a day they take but tell you that you can use it for a credit in the restaurant there in the hotel or the cafe in the hotel.

Sherpa17435411924, we're concerned to hear about your less than satisfactory stay and the inconveniences you encountered. While it is a pleasure to learn that our updated bathroom appealed to you, we regret to learn about the issues related to the bed comfort and room fragrance. We aim to offer a comfortable stay for our guests while assuring a refreshing environment at all times. My mom had never stayed in a NYC hotel. She had been all around the world 🌎 visited every continent and in her very backyard she’s never been to a nice NYC hotel. We chose this hotel because of the amazing skyline. It was lovely. Clean and the staff were nice.

I’m disabled and have multiple bulging discs and spine degeneration. The beds are like slabs of concrete. Management refused to bring extra blankets, anything to try to help. I missed out on family time on the first vacation I’ve been able to take since 2019. After two sleepless nights and being in severe pain, I would love to thank the management of this hotel for ruining my entire vacation. Its most likely the last one my health will allow me to take.

Hotel was booked for a birthday celebration, hotel was advised prior to check-in regarding the celebration and if a surprise can be arrange. Additionally, this was again re-confirmed upon check-in. However, nothing was arrange - no amenity, no card nothing. Furthermore, we paid an upgrade for city view but again this was not given "not available" according to front desk but room rate not changed. All of the front desk team, are not interested in providing good customer service and border just rude as are management.

Great hotel, beautiful view and very helpful staff! Would 100% recommend and would defo come again. But only issue we had during our stay was that we had to pay an extra $100 a night deposit and which you only get $70 back of as they take $30 a night for you to spend within the hotel and if you do not spend it you still do not get that back. But other than that great hotel

The location is great, so is the service. Nice and clean rooms, soft pillows and the staff at the font desk is friendly. The restaurant serves a good variety and there is a separate sitting area at the entrance for a coffee or a drink at the bar. In a small cafe area you can buy a snack/ sandwich or some cookies for with your cofffee or tea

The hotel is aging but still in good condition and has an 80s vibe with dark hallways and mirrors. But the rooms are pleasant and comfortable and the bathroom has a great bidet. The $30 mandatory fee is definitely a money grab as so many guests leaving the hotel are forced to spend the fee at the hotel sundry shop on overpriced needless items. The Ambassador Grill is wildly overpriced and not worth the hassle. On a recent visit 2 bowls of yoghurt and berries and 2 coffees was almost $60.00. Plus it took almost an hour to get served. They didn’t even have croissants or pastries in the restaurant, in NYC! The front desk staff are really nice and helpful and here’s a shout out to Sylvia for helping me with my bill. Bottom line, if you want to be near the UN, this is the place to be, otherwise you might want to check out other places.
