I never write reviews. But my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay so much I had to! I love NYC and this is the best place I've ever stayed there. The staff is amazing. They are super friendly, personable, and helpful. They have awesome local insider tips and suggestions. By the end of the first day we felt like family!... More

My husband and I chose this quaint hotel from the reviews on TripAdvisor. I can't say enough good things about it!! We came for our 30th wedding anniversary and upon arrival had champagne and hand written note from Susan. The staff are ALL so very attentive to your needs. We met folks from all over the world who were staying... More

I stayed at 414 Hotel for 3 days in early October. As others have said, the rooms are nice, and the location very convenient to theaters, restaurants and subways to everywhere in the city. However, having previously stayed in a number of small hotels in Manhattan, the main item that made this place so special for me were the host/owners... More

What a wonderful experience. The hotel (converted brownstones) is modern, funky and homely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the overall location & hospitality is brilliant. My friend and I stayed 3 nights here as a stop-gap between Europe & Mexico and could not have enjoyed our stay more. Great location for food (Restaurant Row) theatre and Times Square... More

Stayed at 414 for 12 nights in October while visiting our daughter who lives close by. Beyond the basics - nice, well furnished and very quiet rooms, great breakfast and happy hour, and good WiFi, AC etc. - the key value of this hotel is the unbelievable hospitality and support every single guest gets from Susan and Aviv and their... Stayed at the 414 post cruise, for 4 nights, in mid October 2016, with my wife, as part of our 25th wedding anniversary holiday. Everything about the hotel is perfect. The 414 is a lovely, late Victorian, red brick building, converted from a pair of town houses, incorporating an attractive inner courtyard. The bedrooms/bathrooms are large by New York standards.... Susan and her team run the "hotel" as their home with great empathy towards all guests. The open approach with genuine smiles show the staff loves what they are doing, meeting people and showing them around in the city. Each morning a newsletter with weather and tips where to go, a delicious breakfast with other guests in or outside. Nice... More

Stayed here for three nights while visiting NYC. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large, clean, updated room which requires a short walk up a flight of stairs. Sufficient continental breakfast in the morning and a wonderful happy hour in the afternoon. Located a couple blocks from the subway and 1/2 block from restaurant row. Highly, highly recommend this place. We... More

Nestled far west of the glitter of Broadway, the 414 is a little slice of European hospitality heaven. Proprietors Susan Yates and her husband welcome guests from near and far abroad into their charming space, a cross between a B&B and small inn. Whether it’s mingling in the lobby over wine and cheese or sipping coffee at breakfast amongst the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
