We arrived on a flight from the UK around 2200 at the hotel and the check in was smooth, manager came out to greet and introduce whilst we were checking in. During our 4 night stay myself, wife and children all really enjoyed the hotel and were made to feel at home. The room was very modern, clean and serviced daily. The hotel was so quiet during the evenings we often forget we were in NYC and the middle of a busy city. All staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough to make the stay perfect.
Views from our room of the Empire State Building were amazing and the hotel is in a a really central location. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a central hotel, a safe space and quiet for a great nights sleep with friendly staff.

Great value for money for NY. Perfect location - so many Unpacked of New York are super easy to walk to + great selection to stroll / restaurants in the evening + Metro subway are within walking distance + near Penn Station station + interesting shops in the immediate vicinity. The room and bathroom are tastefully renovated with high-quality materials, well soundproofed/equipped with everything you need (very large TV screen, safe, etc.) and spacious. I also had the perfect room with a view. But above all, the guest is appreciated here as a guest. The room service is wonderfully careful and refills every day fresh water, coffee (Nespresso!), tea and cookies for free, very clean. I had a really tiny air condition problem on the evening of arrival, it could only be solved the next day (but then reliably and to my complete satisfaction). When I came to the room the next day in the evening, a bottle of wine was waiting for me as compensation for the inconvenience - arranged in style in the ice bucket (see photo). Also in the lobby everyone is extremely nice, always helpful, attentive and competent: you never have to wait, in rain an umbrella is kept ready when a parade took place nearby (Pride month), I received a proactive receipt so that I would get through the barriers to the hotel and not be unnecessarily stopped. If you travel a lot and can compare, you will recognize here a very own signature of the boardroom, here every detail is right and this for a sensationally good price for the location. Thanks for a great New York stay !!! Martina

We stayed at this hotel on the occasion of our honeymoon from 01 to 8 October and were really pleased. The first thing that amazed me and my husband was the reception at the reception and the speed of check in by Joaquin, who was always kind and helpful with us, albeit with some language problems on our part, and the speed of check out carried out at 4:00 in the morning with simultaneous taxi call by the reception! The second thing we enjoyed was the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms, the replenishment of products for the small breakfast in the rooms (lavazza coffee, cookies, water, which is not entirely obvious in New York, where you also pay for the air you breathe...), toiletries (in which there was also mouthwash) and the daily change of towels! The third thing I loved was the location, super central and 10 minutes walk from the Empire State Building (which you could see from our room), 20 minutes from Times Square and just five minutes from the R subway stop. The hotel's location was on a pedestrian street, full of restaurants and clubs offering service from morning to night, staying open until late. finally, the bed was of a unique comfort that allowed an impeccable rest after the long walks we did every day in order to visit as much as possible of that wonderful city. What can I say, you have contributed in an extraordinary way to make our honeymoon in New York incredible! Stra Recommendation this hotel and would choose you again if I return to the Big Apple! Thank you Francesca & Rocco!

The rooms are small but clean. The water pressure in the shower is very weak. The staff is kind and pleasant. The location is good and you can walk from Penn station, so you can come by L.I.R.R. from JFK. This makes it convenient to move around without worrying about traffic! In addition, there are many nice shops around the hotel. You can walk to sweet green and Whole foods, so you can buy and take out to save money on food. 笑 We made the room with a terrace so we could take it out on the terrace and drink. I spent my time in this style. It was great to see the Empire State Building right in front of us! It was convenient to walk to Madison Square or eat Sundub if you get bored of the burgers because Koreantown is nearby. If I come to NY again, I will stay! It would be great if the yen would weaken a little. Because of the high season for hotels, we paid more than 50,000 per room.

To start my trip I waited to get the attention of the front desk staff (Zaia) who when she finally took her eyes off her phone to check me in tells me that my room wasn’t ready (yes this was after check in time). Finally the manager comes done to offer me a bottle of cheap wine for my “inconvenience” of waiting for nearly 45mins (which after a long flight is a lot). Secondly the housekeeping would only clean the rooms if I asked for it to be done (after having asked if they clean the rooms daily to the once again Zaia who informed me yes). Finally when I speak the manager again to discuss these issues, a snazzy dressed man with a bit of an attitude comes to once again offer me a cheap bottle of wine which seems to be their way to bribe for any complaints.

Response from Scott Walker, General Manager at Broadway Plaza Hotel

Hi Nikkio388: Thank you for sharing your comments. We can only apologize as your stay with us is far from our normal guest experience. It is a very rare occasion that we do not have all our guestrooms available by the start of check in time at 3 PM, but it can happen due to departing guests checking out later than allowed. Regarding housekeeping, we were very surprised by your comment as our policy is the exact opposite of what you stated and was confirmed correctly by Zaia. We have always provided daily housekeeping service since opening the hotel in 2000. The only reason housekeeping would not clean a room each day is if a guest told them they don't need service or they have a Do Not Disturb (DND) sign placed on their door. Even with a DND sign, we go back later to see if the guest removed it and have housekeeping on staff from 8 AM-8 PM. Lastly, your comment about bribing, with all due respect, is not kind nor fair. The choices offered were Simi and Coppola wines, both quality vineyards and far from cheap. We were just trying to be nice and provide good customer service for your inconvenince so we are sorry you perceived it any other way. We are a 4 star hotel, ranked #13 in all of NYC on TripAdvisor and we have worked hard to achieve that and are very proud of it. We would love the opportunity to speak to you and ask that you call us at 212-679=7665 and ask to speak to Scott Walker, General Manager. We take all our reviews seriously and our guest experience is our number one priority and want to address your concerns and provide the customer service we are known for. Again, our sincere apologies and we hope you will give us another opportunity to win your confidence. Thank you.

Great hotel in the heart of Midtown. All highlights are within walking distance. Two subway stations are in the immediate vicinity. Breakfast is available in the neighboring restaurant. Upon arrival you will receive a 15% discount voucher per person, as the hotel itself does not offer breakfast. We didn't use the voucher because there are enough options for breakfast in the nearby area. The hotel is on a traffic-calmed street, so it is very quiet at night. Our room was on the 7th floor, sufficiently large with a view of the Empire State Building. There is also a drinks machine on the floor. The additional daily rate of $10 includes in-room WiFi, water and coffee. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The room was very clean. Suitcases can be stored in a separate room on the day of departure. We definitely recommend the hotel!

Huge, clean room with a nice view of the Empire State Building. Cleaning is done every day with the daily change of towels. Coffee, milk and water bottles available daily in the room. The hotel is conveniently located (a stone's throw from a metro station) with a large number of restaurants, cafes, bakeries in the street and surroundings. And finally, I would like to acknowledge the kindness, kindness, availability and responsiveness of all the staff, especially Brandon and his two service colleagues on the evening of November 11. You're wonderful. Thanks. It was a real pleasure to stay at the Broadway Plaza Hotel.

So I stayed here last week with my partner and 3 teenage children, in 2 rooms. I requested the rooms to be on the same floor, which the hotel accommodated. Check in was fast and straightforward, however because we used a debit card to pay the incidental fees, we were charged $200 per room not the $100 as stated on the website, also we were charged a different rate of city tax compared to what it states on the website (when I questioned this, I was told it had been increased but the website had not been updated). I was also told due to me booking last year when the old rates of $7.95 -$9.12 with tax were active, they would honor that fee, however now I have had my incidental fees refunded I can see I was actually charged $43.64 per room not $36.56, only a few dollars difference so not a huge deal but I do feel the website should be updated to reflect these increases and keep costs accurate. Same goes for the free 24hr access Starbucks coffee and Lipton tea, as this isn't available at all due to the renovations the hotel are currently undertaking. The hotel does provide coffee in the rooms though so you can make yourself a coffee each morning and these pods are replenished each day by room service, along with clean towels and trash removal, bed making. There is a vending machine for cold drinks and snacks on 8th floor which is where our rooms were, with a view of the top of The Empire State Building which was lovely at night. The hotel staff are fabulous, as is the location, with access to subways to both the left and the right of the entrance, the city is equally accessible by foot and we enjoyed using Google maps to stroll around the area, tasting pizza slices, bagels, corn dogs, coffee etc on the way.
Only negatives, which aren't even that bad are that the bathrooms in our rooms need updating (still very clean and have a good shower). Also as mentioned above, the website needs updating to highlight the no Starbucks coffee and the increase to the charged fees, again not a massive deal to me, but could be to others.
We all really enjoyed our stay here and have already recommended the hotel to several people, and I also intend to stay here again when I return next year. Keep up the great work.. The staff are truly amazing.

Hi 1981sianp: Thanks you for your business and for taking the time to share your comments. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and wanted to apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience. We are not able to discern your name by your email but will gladly refund you the difference if you contact the hotel and ask to speak to a manager. We are currently gutting and renovating all the guestrooms, hallways and bathrooms and approximately 1/2 of the guestrooms are now complete. The newly renovated rooms are called Deluxe. You stayed in a Superior room which are our older rooms which were last renovated in 2015-2016. We had plans to renovate in 2020 but due to COVID, we were delayed. As far as our website and pricing, we did increase the facility fee a nominal $2.00 per day in February and that was changed immediately on our website. The Starbucks coffee and Lipton tea was also taken off the site a few months back when we started renovating the 4th floor where the lounge was located. As you mentioned, all rooms offer Nespresso coffee makers and we have tea kettles with Lipton tea available upon request. All this is correctly noted on our website and was changed in a timely manner. The fact that you booked last year seems to be the issue as the information had changed since you reserved the room which can happen. We did realize the confirmation letter still mentioned the Starbucks coffee so perhaps that is what you are referring to but that was changed as well. We truly appreciate your business and the kind words and look forward to seeing you back with us again. Have an amazing day

We had booked a deluxe queen, but when we checked in we were given room 1202 (on 12th floor of 13 floors) which had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building, and a terrace outside which was amazing! A surprise upgrade!
The room decor was gorgeous, very stylish and immaculately clean. Bed was so comfy and the room itself was a good size. Lots of natural light. There was a steamer and safe inside the wardrobe, a full-size mirror (with sockets next to it) and a fridge. Free bottled water and coffee pods provided daily, and we also got some crisps and biscuits on arrival which was a thoughtful touch.
The bathroom was big with a large walk-in shower (and a window that we could open for fresh air). Plenty of towels, toiletries and a face wash cloth. There was also a full-sized hairdryer which was a bonus.
Housekeeping done daily to a high standard, and all the staff we met were so friendly and welcoming.
Thank you for a fabulous stay, I'm just sad that we only spent 3 nights here!

Absolutely amazing hotel stay from start to finish. Stayed there with family as I was running the New York Marathon. The staff were all extremely attentive and couldn’t do enough, always going that extra mile. Our favourite by far was Giorgi (he is the most amazing guy out) and Lazero was lovely too. Both always there with a smile and friendly word. The hotel is spotless, my older son has a fear of germs and dirt and he was totally relaxed. The rooms are very spacious, beds are so comfy and the Housekeepers do a thorough job of keeping the rooms sparkling with clean towels and linen while we were out sightseeing. The coffee was kept topped up. The doorman always greets with a smile - plus they keep your luggage when you check out if your flight is later in the day. I really couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. You will not regret staying here. The area round the hotel is upmarket and clean. The noise level is surprisingly low and we slept soundly. There’s a huge choice of delicious restaurants and all the main sights are nearby and the Yellow and Red lines are both close by and go directly to Central Park and Manhattan etc. Will definitely stay here again if we go back to New York.

Hi Nyupstate:
Thank you for your inquiry. As part of our room renovation process, we have made changes to our Superior King bedded rooms. The small sofa/love seat that was previously included in these rooms has been removed. Therefore, no Superior King rooms will have a sofa.
Please note that the only rooms that will feature a sofa are the Deluxe Jr. Suite King, Gotham Junior Suite King, and Deluxe Junior Suite with Two Kings. We have also taken steps to update our website and notify third-party websites to remove any outdated images depicting the Superior King rooms with a sofa bed. Thank you.
Hi Caroline M:
Unfortunately, we do not have a laundry facility on the property but we do offer a same-day dry cleaning and laundry service with an outside company, Mon-Sat.
