This was our second stay, not my first choice in NYC but I understand why its ranked well. The rooms are relatively small, but well appointed. The staff at the hotel are super. No doubt we will be back.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 9 January 2017

The Library is my favourite hotel in the city. And it's easy to understand why: the location is great (Madison Avenue, near the Grand Central Station and Bryant Park), the staff is nice and helpful and the atmosphere makes you feel cozy and at home (and that's not easy to find in the middle of Manhattan). Beside this, the rooms...

From booking until check out, the staff at the Library Hotel were incredibly helpful and hospitable. The price is quite reasonable for all you get in return - including a book upon check in, complimentary breakfast, evening receptions, turndown, assistance with booking transportation, and excellent knowledge of nice restaurants in the area.

The staff was amazing. The sudden snowstorm in March required many to extent their stay. The staff especially the front desk was quick to help all guests. Very considerate and very caring. As usual the breakfast service and evening wine and cheese was excellent

This was our first visit to the Library Hotel, but it will not be our last. From the moment we entered we were greeted warmly and treated to professional topnotch service throughout our stay. We enjoyed a spacious junior suite that exceeded our expectations in comfort and style. Our room was furnished with a variety of classic and contemporary biographies;...

We were very pleased with the service and hospitality offered at the Library Hotel in New York City. It was a dream to stay at this hotel while visiting NYC for our birthdays. The staff went out of their way to recognize my milestone birthday and help us navigate the city. The available books in our room were clever and...

Like everything in New York - this hotel is expensive - with that it is a wonderful small property - with a great location only a block from Grand Central. The rooms are small - but very well appointed with everything you need. The staff was very good - especially the breakfast attendant who did an amazing job of giving...

This was our first visit to this hotel, but not our last. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The Reading room and the Atrium were very nice to spend time in. The continental breakfast along with the afternoon wine and cheese were great. The hotel room was small but nicely finished. Truly an exceptional hotel. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed here during a trip to NYC to celebrate our anniversary. Absolutely everything exceeded our expectations! We were given a complimentary room upgrade to the Mythology room which overlooked library way. The staff, especially Julio, were extremely accommodating. This is an anniversary trip we will always remember!

We used the Library Hotel as a meeting point for four family members prior to traveling out of the country the following day. Great location, wonderful ambience (particularly the second floor reading room), and perfect for our needs. Would gladly use the hotel again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
