This is an exceptional, well situated hotel. This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

The Library wants full payment up front, as you've discovered. I don't know exactly what the contingency deposit would be. Most places would want several hundred dollars to pay for extensive cleaning for guests who smoke in non-smoking rooms, for example. That's at the extreme end of the possibilities, assuming you're not part of a rock band. The more prestigious the room that's booked, the more "insurance" money would be expected. The staff will be as accommodating as possible.

We booked direct with the hotel but would think it’s all included. E-mail the Hotel and I’m sure they will advise you. Would recommend going direct anyway. We had a pre booked car that picked us up outside the arrival terminal and although he seemed to go a strange route I think he did it to avoid traffic. Again booked this private transfer online as a result of a recommendation of a friend who had used them previously. Company was called Carmel Limo
Hope this helps
