Arlo Midtown garners acclaim for its exceptional service, with guests consistently lauding the attentive and friendly staff. The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance are also highlights, contributing to the overall positive experience. While opinions on value diverge, with some guests mentioning unexpected fees, the modern amenities, including a rooftop bar and gym, are popular features.
Its central location is a standout, making it a convenient base for exploring NYC attractions. However, the modern yet compact rooms receive mixed reviews regarding size and noise insulation.

We stayed in this hotel with great attention to detail; although the rooms are a little small, they are functional and well furnished and also quiet. The staff is very kind and helpful. The location of the place is good for those traveling around the city as tourists. The only flaw was the endless wait every morning for breakfast. Unfortunately, in fact, breakfast is not organized as a buffet but is served at the table. In addition to the normal wait for the preparation of individual orders, you have to queue (uselessly) to sit at the individual tables. In the morning basically about two hours passed for all this! For anyone who is a tourist or has something organized, it is a waste of time. In line many people complained about the wait. Tip: change the organization of breakfast and everything will be perfect!

View from our room on 24th floor was amazing. Comfortable bed - not too hard or soft, great pillows and black out blinds, slept really well. Lovely shower and complimentary soaps etc that smelt amazing. Well thought out storage spaces, under the bed and sofa etc. if staying for a bit longer than a few days then would have been nice to have some more space to hang up clothes but there was a clothes steamer if needed (which we didn’t) Room was well serviced, clean and comfortable. We paid extra for Breakfast which was lovely, good choice of food and was great quality. As it’s not buffet style there was a queue to wait some mornings but this didn’t stop us from enjoying the experience and as we were on holiday not needing to be anywhere for a specific time. The staff from Alex on reception, the restaurant staff, cleaning staff and everyone were friendly and helpful. Great location close to broadway and Times Square with plenty of restaurants and shopping in walking distance. 10 min walk to subway, close to Times Square but far enough away from the crowds. Roof top terrace was lovely and the food in the restaurant was great, we had a meal on our first night as we were feeling tired and not wanting to explore. We went early during happy hour so saved some money on a drink and pizza which was delicious. Would highly recommend and return. Was our first time to NYC and wow what a city, and this hotel made a perfect base to explore everything. Thank you for the memories!

Very fancy feeling hotel with lots of details to make your stay comfortable. Rooms are a bit cosy (to be expected in the middle of New York) but the space is used really well and it does not feel cramped or claustrophobic at all. Amazing breakfasts - i recommend the avocado toast, divine! They were also very happy to store my luggage when I ended my stay as I had several hours until my flight. They then arranged a very fancy SUV to drop me to the airport (for a very reasonable charge) and loaded my luggage into it for me (shout out to Gurkan! 🙂)
Overall an amazing stay - I would definitely stay here again!

Our second stay at Hotel Arlo Midtown and it did not disappoint. A few blocks from Javits Convention Center, made for quick strolls to our industry trade show. We patroned all the on-site dining establishments, Cafe, The Bar Room, and Altair. Customer service was on-point and we felt welcomed and well taken care of. On departure, Amanda at Front Desk offered and helped booked us a taxi to JFK and Gurkhan (Bellhop) was so kind to help store our many pieces of luggage and graciously loaded them into our taxi. We will definitely be staying here again!
Most days I’d return to the room around 5:30p and found Housekeeping had not yet refreshed the bed or replenished linens. Not a major setback by any means. Housekeeping staff always responded quickly when we called for towels.

The hotel was impressive at every turn, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. It feels like an exclusive hotel where lifts take you directly to the door of your room (each room card takes a specific lift to the floor you are on). The rooftop bar offers incredible views across manhattan and is close to many of the city's big attractions. Staff are friendly and welcoming and offered us late check out for free. Times Square is 5 minutes walk away, easy walking distance to Empire State and Rockerfella. The closest subway station is a 2-minute walk, and there is a great cafe within the hotel.

Our stay at Arlo Midtown was really great, my husband and I stayed here for a week and the room was perfectly adequate for our needs. It was thoroughly cleaned every day, we even always found clean towels and two cans of water, which was also a big plus. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed help or advice with anything. Alex at the front desk and the Gurkan were extremely friendly. The breakfast was really tasty. The location of the hotel was the best we could find, almost right in the centre by Times Square but on a quiet street so we couldn't hear any street noise in the room and we slept really well, the bed was also very comfortable. We found nothing to fault during our stay. We will definitely be very happy to come back and will recommend the hotel further.

There are positives and negatives with this hotel so let’s address the good things first! Good location and within walking distance of subways and train station. We actually walked from the hotel to Tower 1 which took about 75 minutes The service at reception is efficient The hotel is clean The staff are friendly The shower is excellent and lovely products provided - Shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/body lotion A steamer is provided for creased clothes A safe is located in a drawer under the bed Brollies provided in case of rain Bed and pillows very comfortable. Now for the downside The room was tiny even by New York standards. The bed was against the wall on one side which meant climbing across my husband each time I had to get up in the night. Ok if you are able bodied but wouldn’t be great if you were not mobile or agile! Also nowhere to put anything if you read or wear glasses or need a glass of water. I think bunk beds would have been preferable! Nowhere to put suitcases so had to stand one on top of the other. Only a small rail with 6 hangers for clothes for 2 people. There is a fridge to chill water/beer and the bathroom had 2 drawers under the sink for a bit of storage. The street noise was loud despite us being on floor 25 because we faced the Main Street. Our friends on floor 3 were kept awake by inconsiderate guests leaving the bar/restaurant downstairs because they were close to the elevators and overlooked the internal atrium. We reserved a table for breakfast but still had to stand in the same queue for a table as those who had no reservation so not sure what that’s all about! The service at breakfast is VERY slow even when not that many people in and the poached eggs were cold each time we had them (although cooked well with a runny yolk) The service in the bar each evening was also very slow but the drinks were good and the staff lovely - maybe they need more staff! Overall the hotel is a good standard and the staff dealt with any issues effectively and efficiently.

Lovely hotel, very modern and clean. Good location between 8th and 9th avenue, 9th isn’t the nicest once it goes dark but its fine during the day. The rooms are not as small as people have made out, bed is bigger than a king size with large tv at the end on the wall, there are 4 drawers and hanging rails and also space under the bed and in the bathroom drawers. Air con is ice cold which was needed as it was 30 degrees, there is a safe under the bed which is free to use.
The cleaners came in daily and changed the bathroom towels etc.
We had breakfast one day, it’s very expensive and don’t get an apple juice, it was like a shot glass for (I think) $8!! All tasted nice but over priced and there’s Aroma diner on the corner of 9th for half the price. Get tap water if you do have the breakfast as it’s free.
The staff are all very friendly and courteous. We didn’t need to ask for much but asked for a later check out and got an hour free with no problem.
Nice bars both downstairs and on floor 26 with attentive staff who keep the water topped up alongside your other drinks.
I’d recommend Arlo midtown, it’s a lovely hotel and it’s not far from lots of the main spots.

This hotel should be so great. But every time you pry behind a detail, things are bad. Booked a terrace room - wifi doesn’t work on the terrace. Zero signal. In fact, the wifi is so horribly slow (even in the room) I couldn’t download the Tripavisor app to do this review so I’m doing it on the web. For a $30 a day “urban fee” that includes the wifi - not worth it. Terrace furniture also stained and not maintained, and the terrace door was broken and didn’t lock. They also advertise CitiBike day passes as part of the “urban fee”. Awesome! Oh wait, when you arrive, it's only a $5 code that only works once per account so you can ride a bike out… but you can’t get back without shelling out $$$. Thanks. The room was fine, a little dated. The phone didn’t work when I went to call for bed making and fresh towels service that they didn’t provide while we were out in the city. Nespresso in the room was nice, but pods, cups and sugars were not replenished each day. Checkin slow, and elevators mostly okay. The rooftop is cute and great views, but nothing like it looks like on the website. Overall, a fancy wanna be hotel with premium pricing and middling at best execution.

On arrival we were hit with a $34 dollar a day extra charge for: use of gym (not for me), use of cafe and restaurant (def for me but anyone could walk in and use) a free 30mins on an electric bike (not for me) two bottles of water a day (I never received any water at all). Inside the room is a switch that ‘apparently’ when pressed means do not disturb. Should work but doesn’t and didn’t matter which way I pressed it my room didn’t get cleaned at all in my entire 4 day stay. I also asked at reception to get the room cleaned and have water put in the room but it never happened although it was promised. Staff is n reception are helpful and friendly but spend more time talking to their friends and each other than helping guests. Elevator system is brilliant, rooms were clean albeit small. There was no safety deposit box as in the write up. There was a $100 dollar security charge on check in as well which should be returned in 3 weeks, will wait and see because I think this hotel is a rip off and the extra charge of $34 should be optional for people that want the gym and electric bikes but not for elderly people who really don’t. There are far better hotels in NYC
