This is by far the nicest New York hotel I have stayed in. The staff were lovely and very helpful (which is rare in New York), the rooms were very cool and the view and location was great. It is right opposite Chelsea Market, a few minutes from the High Line and there's good running along the Houston (and you... More

I was very pleased by the service the hotel offers their guests. Top notch. Felt like I was staying at the St. Regis as far as hospitality goes. The entire staff couldn't do enough for their guests. I was impressed with the service. The rooms are clean and cute. Every staff person greets you with a smile, welcome and accommodates... More

This is a great hotel if you want to stay in the meatpacking section of New York. The hotel itself has a very comfortable and mellow, homey feeling. It is not a glitzy, or chain type hotel. Definitely more downtown. The hotel is not new feeling, and has a worn in feel, but in a good way. The entire hotel... More

I am really into design and read about this hotel in many different design mags when it launched. It did not disappoint - high style with enough Kitsch to make you smile but not be campy. The decor is beautiful and staff friendly and ready to help. A gem!

The hotel is in a perfect location, service is top notch, rooms have unbelievable views, very cozy and comfortable, and the daily cheese-n-wine break in late afternoon is the best way to relax and unwind. We spent 4 nights there in June 2016, and will stay there every time we visit NYC. Highly recommend!

My wife & I stayed at The Maritime Hotel in July/August, 2016. This hotel is very well located and, although old appears from the clientele to be very fashionable and popular. Our room was not large, but adequate for a couple. The dining menu is expansive (for breakfast, lunch & dinner) and the bar is quite busy in the evenings.... More

Very clever use of space. The hotel is laid out like a small cruise ship. The halls look and feel like you are going to your cabin on a cruise. The rooms even have a large porthole. Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
