Just spent part of my weekend here and absolutely loved this hotel. I wasn't familiar with it at all but tried it anyway. The location is beyond amazing, smack in the middle of lively East Village. Facility itself was super clean, modern, comfortable, pretty room. Eager to stay again!

Good points: location, kitchen, house keeping. Bad points: no where to sit and eat, which completely made the option of self catering a nonsense. There is a breakfast bar of sorts but the chairs provided were for a dining height table and were really filthy. The lady at check in was uninterested and almost rude. We were on the 2nd... More

Location - Great Room - Enough. Small, but has everything you need. Clean. The Bean - Cool place. Can definitely see how some people find it noisy. Ear plugs in the room for a reason. If you like quiet don't stay in the 2nd floor. Bed - Worst part of my stay. Could literally feel the springs with every move.... More

We booked the East Village Hotel for a week in September to explore NYC. Before leaving for the USA we had read some mixed reviews, and were a little concerned about what we would find. On our arrival we realised there was NOTHING to worry about, and the EVH was going to be the perfect place to stay for our... More

A lot of reviews talk about the noise from the street, but we didn't find that a problem at all. We were in Room 1, so close to the junction of 1st Ave and E 9th St, but never really noticed the noise. There is an air-con unit in the room, a the foot of the bed, which was most... More

This was perfect for us! Comfortable, clean, looks exactly like the photos (which is nearly never the case). Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, as was the daily maid(s). The fact that the front desk aren't always there wasn't a problem. When you check in they let you know of what hours the desk will be manned and... More

Great little apartment in heart of East Village. Couldn't ask for better location; fascinating range of restaurants, communities, people and service. A few niggles (room is small so no wardrobe - just a rail with 6 of the worst designed hangers you could imagine so take your own; there is a mini ironing board but as we had to live... More

Everybody said it was noisy. I didn' t have any anormal noise during my stay. It's a nice place to stay with a coffee in the corner where you can eat good muffins and smoothies. The service is not very personal but it's efficient and the entry codes in the street and room doors are also a good solution. I... More

Located in the vibrant East Village, we found this aparthotel to be ideal for a week long stay in NYC. The area is full of coffee shops, bars and eateries. The nearest subway station is just 10 minutes walk away so very easy to get out and about. The staff, though not there 24hours a day, were very friendly and... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
