Stayed at Pod 39 on two occasions during a recent trip to the US (both staying solo). First stay - had booked a tiny room with separate bathroom and was upgraded to a queen room. So very happy with that! Really nice room, good functional bathroom (watch where you put the bath mat - couldn't work out how not to...

I wont go on about the small rooms thats been done. The location is excellent we stayed for 5 days in boiling hot September. We walked instead of subway etc as we wanted to get a real feel for NY. This turned out to be a great plan by day 2 we were experts in finding our way around and...

Hello Tezgwood Sounds like you had a great experience in New York. Most New Yorkers like to walk in the summer time. It's a great way to enjoy the weather and to see something new you normally wouldn't see. One of the main attractions at our hotel is our roof top bar, and the popularity and location makes it a...

Yes, the rooms are quite small (at least the most affordable are) but the hotel makes up for it with a great vibe that feels hip and lively. The restaurant, Salvation Taco, is excellent, as is the rooftop bar. The views and atmosphere are top notch. Given that there isn't a lot of activity in the neighborhood, it was nice...

I stayed here for a girls shopping weekend. The hotel is quite nice and modern. Service was fine. My friend and I both booked a single room but we were both upgraded to a double which was really nice. After reading the reviews I thought the room would be tiny but for one person it was totally fine. The bathroom...

Incredibly knowledgeable/courteous staff. You'll feel welcomed and cared for! Other positive comments about the room size are just right, so - rather than repeat the compliments - this focuses attention on the contemporary graphics and building treatments that make this a very cool place to stay. 'will definitely return for location, hospitality and price.

I loved Yotel, but found Pod 39, which seemed to have a similar ethos, so thought I'd give it a try as it was closer to where I wanted to stay, as well as being cheaper. It was a false economy. The first room had a lot of noise from external air conditioning units so I rejected it. The second...

Hello DameMeditation Thank you for your contributions on tripadvisors. Regarding your stay with us, I am very sorry didn't we did not meet your expectations especially with a decent quiet night sleep. The Pod 39 Hotel is perfectly located in Manhattan, steps away to the Chrysler building and Empire State. Rooms are modern and clean but extremely small. The rooftop bar is great, the view is awesome.

The room is tiny; there's barely enough room for the bed, a chair and a couple of suitcases. The shower is even tinier (the smallest I've ever seen outside of Hong Kong), there's barely enough room to move around. Beware that the bathroom is seperated from the room only by a sliding glass door - there is NO soundproofing whatsoever...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
