Hotel located in Manhattan. Great location, close to the Penn Station subway station (Penn station in addition to the subway also comes the Lirr). The Hotel guarantees the quality of the Mariott chain, clean spacious room, large bathroom provided you will find shampoo conditioner and shower. I found the lighting of the room very bad which is entrusted to side lamps (above the bedside tables and above the TV), it lacks a central light that guarantees a good degree of useful lighting especially in winter. The in-house bar service is guaranteed by Sturbucks rather expensive chain and with a minimal and poor quality offer. I suggest for breakfast to stop at some cafe outside the hotel. Courteous staff. Great price (at least the offer I found through booking). Hotel recommended for those who want to stay in the heart of Manhattan.

Arrived on a red eye to JFK and navigated the AirTrain and Long Island Railroad to New York Penn Station. From Penn Station walked to the Courtyard Marriott Times Square West. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was very happy that our room was ready early. We stayed in a two queen guest room.
Highlights:
Within walking distance to many restaurants, subway station, Times Square, Theatre district, Garment district, shopping
Friendly and courteous staff
Secure with doorman at the entrance and hotel key card to access lobby and in elevator to access guest floors
Clean room with shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser, bathtub with shower, small bottles of lotion, hand soap, make up remover, room safe, mini fridge, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, electrical outlets throughout.
You can choose to have housekeeping daily or every other day.
We were able to request a late check out which was very convenient.
Tips:
The hotel is on a fairly “quiet” street and busy 8th Avenue is at the corner. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel but you should always be aware of your surroundings. One morning there was a man passed out by a sharps collection box nearby who was there most of the day which was sad to see.
Nearby Angelina Bakery, The People’s Café, Best Bagels and Eats, and White Castle were our go-tos for light bites. We had a nice Italian dinner at Tavola .
We walked or took the subway everywhere we wanted to go to.
Refilled our water bottle at the hotel fitness center.

The Courtyard NY Manhattan Times Square West is an oasis in a convenient but somewhat seedy neighborhood. Stepping inside is like entering a different world. Staff were both warmly welcoming and exceptionally vigilant about those entering (important given the location). Our two-queens room was small but about what we’d expect size-wise for NYC. The modern furnishings left flexible storage options for the four of us. The entire hotel was immaculate, with high attention to detail paid by the housekeeping staff. For the location, it’s a great option.

In town for the Feb. long weekend and needed 2 rooms with either 2 doubles or 2 queen beds. Had a game one night @ MSG so being somewhere between Times Sq & MSG was key. What looked like good sized room in the pictures and mainly positive reviews online led to the decision to stay at this location. The rooms were indeed comfortable, good sized washrooms with plenty of counter space and good quality towels for a Courtyard. For a family travelling with older teenagers, this hotel fit the bill perfectly. Very short walks to MSG, Times Sq, the Empire St Bldg and very good transportation options to get around elsewhere. Many good family food options within short distance as well. There are some quirks however to consider - one room had a full sized mini fridge, the other room had one half the size. For those needing only one bed, looking at the room map on the door, some rooms are indeed tight and tiny with not much room. The front deck staff were very friendly, but for Bonvoy Elite members, this hotel "does not participate in room upgrades" so there is no possibility of booking a lower floor and switching to a room with a better view, or a higher floor at check in. Finally, the area in general is very busy from morning to evening, but still better then the heart of Times Sq, so for folks looking for quieter surroundings, they will not find it here. Overall, it was a good family hotel that was close to our needs. If it was just myself on business or a getaway with my spouse only, I would maybe consider other locations due to the no upgrade policy and leaving it to chance of getting stuck with one of the very small sized rooms.

My husband and I recently spent one night at this hotel.
We took the train into Penn Station from New Jersey, and easily walked a few blocks to the CBM. We have stayed in this area before and find it very convenient. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready for an early check in at approximately 11:30 AM.
Although our standard room was on the small side (typical for NYC), it was very clean, and the bathroom was large. We were on the 4th floor, which had very little natural light. Had we waited for a room on a higher floor, this probably would have been improved, but again, it was nice to settle into our room early.
The hotel is walkable to the theater district.
Our room was located directly across from the elevators, but we did not hear any noise during the night.
Food service is minimal at this hotel. Starbucks is served during the morning hours in the breakfast area. They advertise bar service in the evenings, but it was closed during our stay. There are many bars and restaurants near the hotel, so it wasn't an issue.
Upon checking out, we left our luggage at the hotel's reception area, and enjoyed a day in Manhattan, reclaiming it later in the day.
The staff was very polite and friendly. The hotel was very secure. We would not hesitate to return.
I gave 4 stars rather than five, due to the lack of facilities at the hotel.

For our room rate, I was very impressed. The room was clean, not bad for size, and the bed was very comfortable. On check-in, they let us know they were putting us in a lower floor room because they tend to be bigger. Our window had no view other than other roof tops but we didn’t pay for a beautiful view. It was very quiet at night. Only criticism would be that we missed housekeeping however, I suspect we left our do not disturb sign on the door so I won’t take any stars off for this. For a value priced hotel in a great location to Midtown theaters and restaurants, I would definitely choose this hotel again. Bonus; coffee shop in lobby staffed with lovely and friendly folks.

We really loved this hotel. The front staff were so helpful and kind. Our room was on the 23rd floor and was very comfortable, facing the back door it was so quiet! The bistro had wonderful breakfast selection. It was very good. The location was perfect close to everything. We really loved walking to the highline.

The location is a good option for staying when going to Broadway shows and/or going to MSG but this is not a "destination hotel". The Highline is a short walk away as are other attractions like The Whitney. The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly or timely but otherwise a decent option

Hotels in Manhattan are all small, so we often try to book for convenience. This was perfectly situated close to the west entrance of NY Penn Station, but just enough off the main drag that you did not feel in the middle of it all. The room was fine itself. Where I thought it could use improvements were a) an incredibly slow elevator - we left ten minutes before we needed to be down on the ground because the elevators took so long; b) a limited view - a view of wires and garbage; and (c) a smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby because people smoke right outside the door.
Great for a place that I did not stay a lot in with extra stars because we got quite the deal on it.

Great staff, very professional and courteous, was a terrific location with ability to see all the area, Christmas events and sites that New York City has to offer. Also was a good place to stay and mix in a business visit. Only complaint I would have is why not offer free coffee in the morning to guests. This is something all the courtyards do not do and I can’t figure out why
