The hotel is very well located and allows easy access both up- and downtown. There are bicycles for use, free of charge, which is a huge plus. Going around Manhattan on bicycle is something everyone should do! Finally, the staff is exceptional and make every effort to make sure your stay is perfect.

The room has many small nice details antique furniture, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Great location in Chelsea. Look no further. The coffee bar turns into a cute cocktail bar at night but closes at 10 so there isn't any wild noises. The exterior is just gorgeous.

This glorious restoration of a 19th Century seminary is a unique and attractive place to stay. But it's the excellent service, the spotless rooms and common areas, and the community interface that make it a must-visit. My suite was spacious and charming; the coffee bar downstairs was welcoming and staffed with friendly folks; the outdoor areas were a welcome respite... More

The hotel is really cool, and our room was great. It was a corner room overlooking 20th and 10th. I'd never stayed in Chelsea before, and the location is awesome. Such a cool neighborhood, and access to the High Line is just across the street. It's a great hotel and I'd definitely recommend it.

Cosy, different tiny boutique hotel. Plenty of outdoors space to relax and enjoy the weather. Great coffee Shop. Courteous staff. Perfect location away from the busy side of Manhattan. A bit noisy at times with kids school nearby. Some rooms are small.

Staff was superb, caring and helpful but not overbearing. If you want the cold glare of a chain hotel, this is not it. But if you want charm, interesting architecture and very nice people then this is it. Room super clean, mattress so comfy....overall fantastic!

There is no front desk and what lobby and bar areas exist are overrun by locals. We had a standard room which was cramped with an uncomfortable misshapen sofa. The walls appeared substantial but lots of noise comes in from neighboring rooms and the street. No coffee in the room. The staff is wonderful and the location is phenomenal but... More

This is a very idiosyncratic hotel, and I can certainly see its appeal to tourists looking for a place that captures old-school, low-key NYC charm. Although I don't think it warrants the price, the rooms are more like mini-apartments with a lot of original detailing, and the bikes available for use are a nice touch. But the first room we... A classic boutique hotel in a great location next to the High Line. Intelligentsia coffee and Shinola bikes! Very attentive service. Recommended for business and pleasure. Room furnishings were museum quality but there were the needed modern updates.

“Be forewarned that Wed. middle-of-the-night city garbage truck activity outside can be noisy (not the hotel's fault).”

“We were in a room on the first floor that shared a wall with the lobby. I was initially put off by the notice I could hear from the busy lobby coffee bar that changes to wine bar at night. However, all that closed down at 11pm and it was perfectly quiet overnight. Couldn't hear the street either as it was in the garden side. Recommend #16 if you can't get upper level that doesn't face 10th Ave. ”
