Staff very well hidden upon arrival as well as in case of a problem. We paid extra to have private bathroom, and when given the tour of the place, Tony explicitly said "This is your personal bathroom." Yet the following morning we found guest after guest using our bathroom for a shower. When the bathroom was finally free after two...

Maybe the hotel itself doesn't deserve 4 stars, but my overall NYC-trip deserves at least 5 stars, and Tonys Place (or Tony for that matter) sure didn't get in our way to enjoy the trip. Yes the hotel is in Harlem, i knew this before arriving since i looked at a map (a tip for certain other reviewers). This southern...

II wish I could give no stars to this place. I wish that my experience here was just a nightmare, because at least I dont lose $140 in a nonrefundable deposit when I'm dreaming. Disgusting facilities. Horrible staff. Ended up crashing on a friend's house instead. So let me tell you a little story.... My three friends and I were...

For starters, there is no sign outside the front door.. just number 133...! The inside is really quite quaint and victorian and could be made into something really special however, one bathroom (toilet and shower) for the entire building is awful.. including the dodgy shower curtains!!! Secondly, this place is just a cheap bed with no breakfast.. so don't get...

This was not an enjoyable experience for us. We are in our early twenties and relatively inexperienced travellers. We are from the United Kingdom and we were really looking forward to our trip to New York, this Bed and Breakfast nearly ruined our entire trip! The are wasn't at all what we expected, do not make the mistake we made...

The owner Tony was really helpful and friendly. But the room was really squeezy, had a hard time moving around the tiny room. Location is slightly too uptown of Manhattan. Takes about 15-20mins to get to downtown Manhattan. Very quiet at night, there's nothing much going on in the neighbourhood after 7pm. If budget permits, find a hotel located nearer...

As you'll see from the other reviews, this seems to be a love it or hate it sort of place. From our recent stay in Oct of 2010, I'd say most of the comments made here are still true: THE GOOD ... THE BAD Beautiful old building ... But a little frayed around the edges and in need of some...

We had a confirmed reservation that was paid in full. Two days before arrival we were informed that our reservation was cancelled. This lets us feel completely take an advantage of and created great problems and added expense. Not a reliable b&b.

We stayed 4 nights in this historic (pre-revolutionary, I believe) house. Tony was very welcoming and helpful. The house was full of great antiques, including dark wood stairs and flooring, leather emobossed wall paper, chandeliers, lovely tables, lamps and portraits. The rugs are well-worn and the bathroom is not well-lit, and some of the wood work is in need of...

My partner and I cannot understand why there would be negative reviews of Tony's place B&B! The condition it is in now, as we cannot speak for the past, is superb. Our experience was very pleasurable, it is like having your own apartment in NYC for however long you choose to stay. Tony is warm and gracious. We stayed in...
