I stated in the Rivington for a week on business. I'm used to mid-town hotels with rooms barely big enough for the bed, so getting a huge modern room with chairs, table and floor-to-ceiling windows was a major plus. I'm not sure whether the shower-room windows were one-way or not, though. I may have bared my bum to the Lower...

My boyfriend and I first stayed at the Rivington a month ago and had a great time, so when I had to return to NYC on business this week and he was able to join me, we once again booked the Rivington. The experience was nothing shy of fantastic. Lester, who works the door, was the first person to greet...

To be honest, I wasn't actually staying at the hotel as I live around the corner but my parents from Australia spent over a week there. The room was great (very spacious), but the highlight was the ahhhhmazing breakfast from MICHELLE. She was honestly the best. I don't know how someone can be that bright & bubbly every morning. She...

Just stayed at the Rivington for 4 nights in a regular king on a high floor (12th) and the views on the west side are amazing, not overlooked at all so would definitely advise paying the little extra. The staff at the hotel are always happy to help. The room was styled in a modern way with all the hotel...

Recently had my 2nd stay at Hotel on Rivington, (a single night stay-over) and I think I even had the same room. Cool and contemporary, quiet and elegant, this is a great location to get away for a romantic weekend or couples-only stay in NYC. As anyone would expect for a big city boutique style hotel, the rooms aren't vast,...

Legendary beats, great food, attractive people and wonderful service. Michelle is the hostess with the most and does everything she can to make our experience extra special. I've been three times in three months and has become one of my new favorite things in New York. Order the french toast and the bacon. OMG!

I would like to acknowledge Michele' Burnett, the Breakfast Ambassador at Co-op Food and Drink, the restaurant at Hotel on Rivington. She gave the best service that I have experienced in NYC. I went to their new Champagne Saturday Brunch with a group of friends. She was not only professional but she treated us like we were her best customers....

I've stayed at this hotel 5 or 6 times and it never fails to impress. Try to get a high floor room- they have great views of the low slung lower East Side. Some of the rooms have soaking tubs, some have steam showers- both are great for lighting candles, popping a bottle of wine and relaxing with your favorite...

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
