My wife and I love this little place. Every time we visit NY we stay here. The price is so cheap and the facility is impeccably clean. Even the shared bathrooms are clean. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful sanctuary in the city.

Returning to Seafarers nothing much has changed except the reception desk has moved and the mezzanine has been updated. There is also a workable WiFi in the lobby and a couple of computers if you need to pick up Emails or print your boarding cards. The rooms are very basic but kept clean. The elevator is slow and busy in...

We wanted an inexpensive place to stay close to East 20th Street -- and the Seafarers & International House was perfect. Our double room with shared bath cost only $108, and because the hotel is a non-profit there were no taxes added on. Positives: Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood (close to Union Square) is...

For a safe and affordable place to stay in NYC nothing beats it. And the location is superb. The rooms are spartan. But if you plan on not spending your vacation in your hotel room then this is the place for you!! There are no taxes because it is run by a nonprofit. You can save money and feel good...

On the plus side: friendly, excellent location, and affordable prices (both en suite and not). Especially in terms of the affordability, I know that one isn't really entitled to ask for much. You get what you pay for! But the tidy if somewhat characterless lobby and mezzanine promised too much. Our small room was outrageously dated. It was clean but...

Very friendly staff and management. Excellent location, simple rooms and very clean. The prices are unbeatable in New York area. Metro station is around the corner and you can quickly go to any place in New York.

I stayed only for one night here, and it was a good deal for a short stay. Had shared bathroom and toilet with 4-5 other rooms on the floor. It is a very basic place, comfortable enough, but preferably for people who aren't planning to stay in much. People there are very friendly, and you probably feel most comfortable there...

We have stayed at this facility many times in the past. There are two options: Share-a-bathroom which affords one single bed and an uncomfortable roll-away, or private bath which provides two single beds. The price, I believe, for the first option is less than $100/night. The price goes up a bit during weekends. The second option with private bath is...

I stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago on a visit to NYC and decided to return for economic reasons. It is one block from Union Square, easy to find, right on the corner of East 15th street and Irving Place. Neighborhood is very safe. My 13 year old daughter and I stayed in a single room for $87...

This is a wonderful alternative to high-priced hotels in NYC. Basic, but clean, comfortable and safe...and right in Union Square. I had a room with a private bath, but you can get a single room with a shared bath for less than $100 a night which is almost unheard of in NYC. Rooms had a TV, mini-fridge, plenty of towels...
