The London is good, better than average, but in my opinion it isn't very good. Overall it feels very dated. The lighting is too dark for my taste -- from the lobby, to the restaurant, to the hallways & elevator. I had a room on a high floor which I recommend. I can't imagine being on a lower floor, it...

On the positive side: The bed was amazing, with fabulous linens; we wanted to take it all home with us. And the suite was stylish (if perhaps trying a little too hard to be) and remarkably spacious, especially for NYC. Room service was efficient, with good food. Excellent fast, free wi-fi. On the other hand, the lobby was chaotic, with...

We booked this hotel based on recommendations from friends and family and because it was listed under Amex Fine Hotels. Unfortunately it fell far short of our expectations. In general the front desk staff were not particularly kind or accommodating. We reserved 2 rooms, one for my husband and I and the second for our newlywed son and daughter-in-law. Food and...

Everything was fabulous. The room service was above all expectations. My view was spectacular, theatrical, and something to behold. Loved every moment of everything. I had a suite on the top level and it was worth every penny. Also everything was fare price. The full bar in my room was also a huge plus.

This hotel is in a perfect location....quick walk to the park, theater, shopping, etc. The suite was perfect for our group of 3 girls traveling. As many reviewers mentioned the shower/bath area is divine....large and luxurious! The color palette of the rooms...white, silver, light green/blue was pleasing, the remote curtains were a nice touch too. The sitting room offered a...

We booked this hotel through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. It was most disappointing. The rooms photograph really well but in reality they are ridden hard and put away wet. The wear and tear on the rooms is really evident and there are stains on the sofa and in our room there was the mark of an iron on the...

All the rooms are suites and if you contact the hotel directly you may get a deal-stay for 4 nites and pay for 3, depending on when you go. Front desk and service is beyond good and the rooms are large and comfortable≥ We love this hotel!!

I always stay at The London when I'm in New York. It's super convenient--close to the Park and the subway, good restaurants and excellent coffee places nearby. Lobby is stylish--staff is very discreet--best of all are the huge suites with excellent beds and bathrooms. Furniture and decor is funky and fun. No wonder so many rock bands stay here! Beware...

American Express has a concierge service for card holders that recommends and books luxe accommodations and they steered us to The London. It was part of their fine hotels and resorts package. Nothing, at all, was fine or luxe about this hotel. The one positive was it's a central location in the theater district. It was also spacious, much bigger...

Luxury Trips by Bea really loved this place. Having had a bit of a nightmare at a different hotel (which we won't name), the London had space. We walked into the room and were quite honestly, blown away by the size of it. A mini lounge area (where we threw our shopping), a good sized bed room (if you're a...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
