This is our go-to hotel in NYC. I am reluctant to mention it because my girlfriend and I feel like it is our own private hidden special place. The staff are super sweet and accommodating. We love the restaurant too. They have a great lobby that feels like a private club in London. Feels like old New York. The rooms...

This is a good hotel that is well-situated to explore New York, with great restaurants, shopping and parks nearby. The rooms are reasonably sized by New York standards and are nicely appointed (more bohemian than luxurious). The bathrooms are a good size. Rooms on higher floors have a nice partially-obstructed view uptown. The hotel also has an excellent and popular...

I booked a stay for myself and 2 dogs. I can't tell you how wonderful the staff was to all 3 of us. They made sure that the room was serviced by the time of our return and were very friendly. I want to specifically acknowledge the following people for their politeness and friendliness : Jason Stump, Nekesha Thorpe and...

We booked a suit, ok in size but far too cold in the room. Also a bit dirty. They only provide you with one bottle of water, for two....! The restaurant staff acts a bit snobbish with no reason. The doorguys and the receptionists are great! This is not a posh hotel, sorry to say.

Dear Ninni38, I am very sorry to hear that your room was too cold and a bit dirty. We normally receive high praise for the cleanliness of our rooms. I have shared your comments with our Director of Housekeeping and he will be increasing his room checks extensively and following up with all supervisors and housekeepers to rectify any deficiencies...

This hotel has an "event space" on the second floor where they hold loud dance parties during the week. They gave us a room on the 3rd floor directly above it and it was still shaking the floor after midnight. When I called the front desk they said that they would move us except that they were full. When I...

Dear DMH154, I am very sorry to hear about your experience regarding the event space. I entirely agree with you that all guests deserve an excellent night's sleep at any hotel. Regarding the noise, we do have an event space that we book out for private events. We do not have dance parties, but we do have events that sometimes...

The hotel has a very friendly staff. We were received well. The lobby is somewhat shabby and dark. The rooms are good and clean the bed comfortable. The bathroom renovated. The area is full of restaurants. The windows can be opened at night which we liked. For the area in town it is the right place to stay.

You can find a walk around Tour of our stay in The Bowery on our Youtube channel 007inDubai. We stayed for 5 days over New Year's and The Bowery really made our time in New York special. From the greeting as we arrived, where the lovely front of house staff gave us some tips for breakfast places before our room...

The Bowery is of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. This really is made special by the amazing amazing staff! Keisha and Erica from the front desk went above and beyond, thank you so much for everything. They ensured that anything big or small was sorted for us. We also had a lovely waiter in the bar on...

It doesn´t get any better than this. The charm of this hotel with its classic ambience and history kept intact is what does this to the best hotel in NY. Personal, friendly, interesting and very proffessional. The hotel is just right in size for great random meetings with all kinds of poeple that knows how to pick those spots. You...

Visited NYC with my wife on short notice over late winter weekend. We reserved a suite at The Bowery and were upgraded to a one bedroom. The room was beautiful, large and well-appointed with a spacious outdoor terrace. The public spaces in the hotel are alluring and creative. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We found this to be a...

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
