I stayed here in Sept with a friend while we went to the US Open. The hotel is VERY COOL! There is low light inside, making everything look vintage, antiqued, old. The decor is very authentic and so well done. The room was perfect. It was small, but most room in NY are on the small side. The bathroom was...

Our first stay at The Bowery Hotel was in September 2015 and we couldn't wait to get back there this September. Our trip was cut short due to a death in the family and The Bowery staff couldn't have been more supportive, accommodating and helpful. Love the ambience of the lobby lounge, the bar and the outdoor courtyard. The rooms...

Stayed here for 2 nights, found the whole experience fantastic, the ambiance, the welcoming and friendly staff, the casual lounge area for drinking and eating and the room were all top notch. I cant find fault with anything during my stay, it was sad to check out, felt like leaving home! The management should be proud of their hotel, clearly...

Stayed here with my whole family many times. Amazing view from my balcony and a great place to chill. Bar downstairs is excellent and great service. Close to the trains and easy to get anywhere. This is my choice when visiting NYC as have had many fun times and fond memories while staying at this hotel.

The Bowery Hotel is my husband's hotel of choice in New York City, and now it is mine. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms comfortable and luxurious. Plus, the hotel is close to several subway stops and excellent restaurants and shopping. We will be returning.

We stayed here two nights at the end of a week long trip (the other five nights were at a cheaper hotel). This was a splurge and birthday gift to myself. We asked for a corner room on a higher floor, which they accommodated, and the view was amazing. Truly excellent service and the restaurant was great too! Can't recommend...

I actually love the bar a lot, its great to sit there, have amazing drinks and a great ambience. The bar managers are a bit strict and not as friendly, even if there are chairs available, they sometimes don’t let you sit there due to the clue onto hotel guests. Anyway, a good experience for a drink in between.

First of all, this is not a five star hotel. What they actually sell there is a "vibe", and that's it. The rooms are tiny and all beaten down. They have spring mattresses ... what else can I say. My check in was horrible, the guy just gave me the impression that he didn't care about me at all. If...

I booked The Bowery hotel on a last minute whim with my 10 year daughter after a late NYC concert. Coming off the busy night life of Bowery Street, you are instantly transported to another time, of dark wood panels, tasseled brass keys, castle like stone fireplaces... The lobby lounge is warm and intimate , and semi private to hotel...

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
