Detailed Reviews
Having stayed at over 7 different NYC hotels over the last 6 weeks since we had a fire in our apartment, this has been the best by far, and it's the only Manhattan Marriott I'd stay at. What gives this location a star above the rest is largely due to the hotel manager, Maria; she's sweetheart, sincere, genuinely caring, and very welcoming. She runs a tight ship with happy crew. Marquise, a supervisor, on more than one occasion went out of his way and certainly beyond his required duties. All the staff i encountered was professional and courteous. Just a great experience

3/5feels a bit harsh, it wld be a 7/10.,famtastic location, 2 mins from river with bars and free seating to sit out in the evening plus old ship to visit for free. 5 min walk to ferry pier and 5 mins from some great wall street bars that do happy hour plus the museum of the American Indian. Mostly vv quiet and v good sleep, v comfy beds and even with window open, traffic noise just became a blur. Only Saturday night was noisy from local bar music outdoors. Staff really helpful, friendly and peasant. Our room had poor naturaloght as looked on to another building, asked to change but no rooms available till 2 days later so we left it, but they did try their best. Generally v clean tho room carpet not hoovered v well and we had to ask for shower mat, more towels etc. Breakfast. Most of food fine, v nice cereal, yoghurt, muffins, bacon. Grt to provide paper bags for takeaway breakfast. Some slightly odd items but that may just be me as Brit comparing! The biggest issues were 1. Lack of chairs and general space, bit of a bunfight 2. Terrible and off-putting non - system for food and items disposal. They need to have food waste, paper, plastic etc all early demarcated. 3. General over use of plastic and disposable items. All ( v small and hard to use) plastic picnic cutlery in prepacked bags, creating even more waste. Plates, bowls,, cups all disposable. The cups by water dispenser and in rooms all covered in soft plastic, more waste again!! The coffee bags for machine in room also all prepacked. The marriott really needs to rethink this.

I interacted with three people at the front desk. Two were pleasant, and one was very short with answers. Not rude, but not as outgoing as I am used to with a Marriott property. I was "upgraded" due to status with Marriott. When I got to the room, I noticed it was tiny. the sink countertop did not hold much at all. The bathroom faucet seemed to get hot almost instantly, while the shower took a long time to come to temperature. The shower control was opposite of the shower head, and the soap shelf was tiny. The towel rack is not convenient at all for not getting the floor towel wet. The glass cover on the desk needs to be lifted and cleaned under. there was food and other debris between it and the desk. When the HVAC would come on, the vent was designed to reflect of the ceiling, and come right down on you as you were in bed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I will probably try to find another property next time, but this was not terrible. Also, keep in mind there is an outside concert venue close by, and you hear it very easily even on the 20th floor. Thankfully it was one day out of the time i was there.

Stay away from this place, this hotel is NOT managed by Marriott, it’s a franchise and it shows.
We stayed in August 2021 for 5 nights and this is THE WORSE hotel I have ever stayed at. I’m going to start by stating the only positive about the hotel. The location is pretty good, close to the water and metro.
When we got there, the lobby was tiny and ugly. It looked nothing like the picture in the website. We Checked in and they gave me one conditioner, I asked for shampoos and they had NO shampoo and the gave us one soap for four of us. No apologies, as a matter of fact, when I asked why they had no shampoo, the guy got upset!!! This was during the pandemic!!!
We booked a room with a king and another with two twins. The rooms were extremely small with a closet that is minimal.
The phone in the room was broken, and one of the lights in the room did not work. Breakfast was the bare minimum; some small bagels, cereal, toasts and juice. The second day, there was less than that because someone forgot the keys for the fridge with all the yogurts/milk/fruit cups. The toaster was locked too. And still no shampoo and NO SOAP.
When I asked again about getting soap/shampoo, one of the managers told me they had a shampoo shortage in the whole city.
We finally got shampoos and soaps on day 3.
When I asked if the hotel was part of Marriott or a franchise, she told me they were a franchise.
That explains the lack of customer service and amenities that cine with Marriott. I have been staying at Marriott for over 30 years and I’m used to good service.
Thus hotel is the WORST

The hotel has a number of pros and cons, but overall would not be my top choice for staying in New York.
For me, the hotel location whilst reasonably convenient if you are doing business in the Financial District, feels a bit sketchy. It's a quiet street near the piers with minimal attractions in the immediate vicinity. The lobby itself is quite dismal (which seems to be a recurring theme with other Fairfield Inns I have visited).
The rooms themselves have nice decor and decently sized. Unfortunately, I was staying for a number of nights and the room I was given had an adjoining door to the next room. This meant that noise in the next room was amplified. The first evening was fine - although I could hear a female on the phone to someone this was no major disruption. However, on the second night I heard many males (at least 4) in the room next door who were coming in and out and taking calls through until the early hours of the morning. Given there were only a few rooms on each floor and their room faced the elevator. I did not fancy calling reception to solve the issue then and there. Fortunately, the next morning I spoke to reception they promptly changed my room to one on another floor with no adjoining door. This was a vastly different experience, but I would not necessarily a great hotel for female solo travelers.
There is also free breakfast buffet included, which has a decent selection of food and beverages which you can eat in the sitting area or take back to your room.
Overall the service is very friendly and prompt, the rooms are well appointed for the price, but unfortunately the layout doesn't necessarily feel particularly secure.

We checked in a bit before noon and our rooms weren't ready. They did arrange a storage area for our luggage. They have two elevators but 27 floors so several of us just carried our luggage to the fourth floor storage room.
Once we arrived back late in the afternoon our room was ready and we were able to retrieve our luggage. Check in was quick at that point; my room key was waiting. The lobby sanitizer stand was empty. They did have a key return container on the counter with sanitizer; drop your room card in as you leave.
The hotel said they have a 24 hour hold time between room occupancy but we weren't too sure about that since our rooms weren't ready for us when we arrived. Perhaps were arrived at hour 23?
Our room was comfortable and all items worked. There was an iron, hair dryer, ironing board, telephone and minifridge. I was glad of the minifridge. We used it.
The shower, toilet and sink were clean and worked. Except the plunger in the sink didn't close. Since I wear contact lens this is a big deal for me. Not my first rodeo so I used the shower cap over the drain to block it.
Our room faced a brick wall which was ok. The alleyway was quiet and the darkening curtain blocked the security lights at night.
They offer breakfast with all the usual items. They had low fat but not skim milk. The coffee in the breakfast area was excellent. A fellow was there to get hot water for tea. It was a self-serve scramble set up like most places.
The elevator continued to be a bother. There was no restriction on the number in the elevator and the "mask required" signs were ignored by some guests.
Good nights sleep and good location. Not sure I would chose this spot again but might be the best choice for the price.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy member as well as a past Marriott employee and I have never been to a worse Marriott hotel. Due to delayed flights I did not get to the hotel until very late, but I did check in on the app and gave notification of my late arrival. When I arrived the man at the front desk told me my room was not available anymore and there was only one room left that they could put me in. The window was open when I got into the room and it was 85 degrees in the room. There were bugs everywhere and the air conditioning did not work. The next morning when I expressed the issue to the supervisor on shift he told me he would not be able to comp my night but would only give me 25000 points. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member you know that 25000 points will not even cover one nights stay at any hotel…let alone a hotel in NYC on a Friday night. When I told him that was not enough he told me I would have to talk to the manager. A manager was never available during my stay so I have sense tried calling multiple times to speak with someone but every time the front desk transfers me to the engineering department. It has been a month now and I have yet to get in contact with someone. On top of this issue, I have never been to a less secure hotel. When I arrived late the first night I was able to walk in without a key card and the man at the front desk did not even pay me any attention. All of the stairwells and elevators were unlocked giving access to anyone out on the street the floors above. This is a huge safety concern for families or anyone as random people could just walk in at any time and no one would even question it. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I originally choose this place because of its affordability and wasn’t expecting much - but it was fantastic! One of the better stays I’ve had in NYC (I’ve stayed at much pricier hotels and have gotten a lot less). The hotel staff was very friendly. I arrived early at 10am asking to drop off my luggage and they told me my room was ready! They always had icey cold flavoured water available in the lobby, I never had to wait for one of the elevators which is rare in a building this tall and their breakfast was amazing! Quiche, cheese omelette, fruit, cereal, pastries, toast, bagels, oatmeal, excellent coffee - fabulous! They also printed off a page for me when I needed it. The room was a bit small, but I didn’t come to NYC to spend it in the hotel room. It was clean, comfortable and safe - which is all I needed! I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

The room was small (as are most hotel rooms in NYC) but clean. Staff was great. The bar is not open on the weekend which posed a problem on Saturday night when we didn't want to venture out. This area of NYC rolls up the carpets fairly early on weekends due to it being financial district and everyone usually bolts on the weekend.

The staff at this hotel, from Christopher at the front desk, to the head housekeeper and the staff at breakfast were all excellent.
There are hundreds of hotels to choose from in New York City and we’ve stayed at quite a few and honestly all the rooms are on the small side like this one. This one we’ll remember and return to because of the people.
We are here to take the ferry over to our cruise ship, the QM2. The ferry is very close to the hotel an easy walk.
We walked a couple of blocks up to the Fulton street market and grabbed something to eat for dinner but there are plenty of choices nearby. We’re very close to Wall Street as well.
