Facility is not fancy but very accommodating. The staff is very helpful with recommending places to eat and explaining that some neighborhood restaurants offer discounts for guests. It is not the ideal hotel, but it is the perfect place to stay if you have to be at any of the affiliated hospitals. Great location if you are able to take...

Can take M31 for access to downtown, new Q line in 2nd Ave is a real good value and M15 for access to upper Manhattan appointments are other assets. If need to do laundry, just have to go the basement and do it.

Hotel is within steps to the hospital which is what I needed to be able to take my mom to have open heart surgery. It's clean and I would have loved to be able to stay the two weeks she's here but it's too expensive. I understand that it's the Upper East side but not everyone that is coming to...

I booked the facility because of its closeness to the hospital. Very simple, no frills. I especially liked the front office staff and the cleaning people. Friendly and respectful. Good price for this area - no taxes because they're non-profit as part of the Oberman care incentive.

I wish there was security at the elevators ! Anyone could walk in and take an elevator to any floor ! There should be a slot for the key in order to use the elevators I appreciated the non slip floor of the tub! Important self care items were also great !

Manager was very nice and considerate. The hotel was clean, comfortable and close to stores and restaurants. We especially liked the convenience of having a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, sink and micro in our room. The Television had Soectrum Cable and was easy to use. We would definitely stay at this Hotel again.

Very affordable and convenient. It doesn't get much better than this. If you are going to one of the hospitals this is the place to stay. It is especially affordable for a family with t h the kitchen facilities.

The convenience of Hospital for Special Surgery to the hotel is PRICELESS, however the aging of the carpeting, walls, bathroom and room is hard to miss. You just have to remind yourself I am only here for some sleep.

In stead of driving to the city two days in a row, my husband and stayed at the Hemsley Towers in preparation for my surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering. The facility is walking distance to the hospital and many local restaurants. We arrived early for checking in and the female employee at the front desk upgraded our room to one...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.

“The back of the hotel faces sun rise -- the York Avenue side offers NYC views. The only problem with the room was the pillows......which considering everything else was not THAT big a deal. Ask for one of the recently renovated rooms --- the slight extra charge is worth it.”
