I'm a native New Yorker and a travel agent, so I always wanted to stay at a boutique hotel located in Manhattan. And to say I was extremely impressed would not be an exaggeration. The property was gorgeous and well kept, considering the snow storm that had covered the sidewalks just the day before. The location was ideal, close to...

The somewhat thin walls between me and my exuberant neighbor family who were definitely coming from a time zone where bedtime was around 2 am New York time, and lack of extra rooms, meant that I had a rocky night of sleep (the folks at the front desk kindly informed the family that they were a bit loud, but kids...

The property was nice, a convenient location, and reasonably priced. The room (and especially the bathroom were smallish, but comfortable. If we were staying again (and longer) I might investigate other room options for a little more space or view ( the bricked up window of the property of the building across the alley was not that picturesque.

Whenever I'm in NYC for business or just for fun, I always try to stay at the Roger. As a hotel it's nice, clean, attractive and has everything I need. It also has a very neighborhood feel and it's like I'm (still) living in the city. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, and it's quiet!

Room was sup par and smelled like cigarettes/ reported to hotel and they did nothing. Location was fine. Hotel has small lounge and bar- room service was fine. Staff seemed disinterested in making anyone's stay a friendly one.

Excellent accommodations and staff at the Roger. Very nice hotel with all amenities that you would expect. Very solicitous staff and fun lobby bar. Good breakfast and rooms are quite clean and spacious for NYC.

I was in NYC briefly and stayed at the Roger because of its proximity to my work there. The decor had been upgraded since I last stayed there several years ago and it was soothing and relaxing. The feather pillows were a great plus in my book! Bed comfy. My only complaint, if you can call it that, was the...

For our wedding, my husband and I booked a block of rooms for our out of town guests. We also stayed there for the duration of the wedding. I cannot recommend The Roger highly enough. To a person, the staff is warm, welcoming, helpful, and friendly. There is complimentary wine in the evening during the week in the hotel's comfortable...

A cosy botique hotel with perfect location and a very friendly staff. Spacious and clean rooms. Walkind distance to Macys and great shopping. Great but expensive breakfast. I can definitely recommend this hotel both for business and recreation.

Ok hotel but even for New York I felt it was very expensive for the service received. Key cards kept not working and needed to be renewed, the buffet was $35 which was expensive. The lift kept giving electric shocks and the hotel double charged me for my room. Some floors also smelt. Would not stay again if other options...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This June, The Roger is unveiling a sophisticated new look after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guest rooms. Standing at the crossroads of uptown and downtown off Madison Park, the new Roger is a marriage of chic design and old world comfort, while continuing an unyielding commitment to superior service. The fresh aesthetic of the Roger’s public spaces is curated by hospitality guru Steven Kamali and designed by the notable Anna Busta. A collaboration of renowned talent has distinguished a transitional hotel that caters to the demands of the modern traveler and local tastemakers alike. The vaulted lobby lounge provides an ideal space for any time of day or occasion, from morning business meetings to lunch with family, or catching up over cocktails with friends. To update the spacious guest rooms, the Roger tapped Annette Jaffe of MSM, whose timeless original design has kept travelers returning year after year. Jaffe’s new rooms are characterized by lush custom pieces and applied moldings to naturally compliment the historic building’s unique rooms and inviting terraces. Whether for only a night or a weeks long stay, the Roger is the savvy traveler’s home away from home. ... more   less
