We took a quick 4 day trip to New York at the end of January and picked this hotel because of its location. What a great decision we made. Truly can't be beat. It's right in the heart of Times Square and one block away from the subway stop. A 5 minute walk to Bryant Park and approximately 15-2 minute walk to Central Park. The breakfast which is included has great variety and the fact that it's included in the room price can't be beat. My only complaint would be that given we're in the post Covid era, I really think they should get rid of the carpet in the rooms. Other than that, the stay was great. I couldn't write this review without giving a shout out to two of the hotel's employees that truly made our stay even better. Joseph the Bellman was EXTREMELY courteous, kind and helpful. Always going out of his way to ask if there was anything we needed. Then there is Fatima (the hostess at breakfast). I would give her 10 stars if I could. The hotel better do anything and everything to keep her around. She is AMAZING and truly one of a kind!!! The sign in the breakfast area reads “Happy Breakfast starts here”. Well, yes indeed it does if Fatima is on duty!! She greeted EVERY SINGLE PERSON that walked in with an “Aloha, good morning! Welcome to breakfast! She went out of her way to give people recommendations of what to try. “Have you ever had cream cheese and bacon bagel? That’s New York style”. “Any special dietary requests, let me know”! “Good morning sunshine..if you need anything you let me know”, "If you don't like omelletes, let me know and we can get you some scrambled eggs." Apparently the day prior to our arrival, she had not been on duty and I heard almost everyone that walked in after me comment “we missed you yesterday / we were looking for you yesterday”. That is how much of an impact her very presence gave all of the guests. We are living in a time where the service industry, courtesy, a smile have all but disappeared. To find someone that exudes happiness, loves and is happy with what they do, is priceless. The love that she gives out is truly a gift and she should be rewarded for how she goes above and beyond! I told her this personally, that is how much of an impact she had on me, and everyone else. Sadly she was only there one of the 3 days we were there. The other servers were courteous, but pretty much the same as you see everywhere else! Fatima is a SUPERSTAR!…
Rooms were clean and decently sized. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but more than sufficient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great, very convenient to Times Square. One warning to families - We were extremely disappointed as Time Square now reeks of pot! People are smoking joints on the street, even lighting up in front of the police whose response is that there is nothing they can do. Both of our kids were extremely upset. My daughter was even offered coke on the street!! Not sure if will take another family vacation to NYC until this changes - big disappointment.
It was the best and most convenient hotel if you want near times square. I’ve been staying here every time I come to NYC. Very clean and very friendly staff. I recommend you to stay new rooms too compared to the last time I was there. Very fast service and I’m very happy with my stay.
I have stayed here multiple times. It can go perfect or terrible. It seems to be based mostly on who checks you in and also how busy they are. There is tremendous difference in experience based on room location and whether you need to request anything extra afterwards. If you are able to use the app, pick a room online that is not changed at check in (keep track of room you picked) and manage to get it right with the first room this can be a great base in Times Square. If something goes a bit off and the service seems really bad, it can be disappointing. So my 3 stars is combo of various 5 star stays and two stays I would struggle to even give 1.
Shane at the front desk is awesome. Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. He gave me advice on the best places to eat and they were a hit! The rooms are also clean and nice.
Stayed here on a trip to NYC to see some plays. Excellent location if you want to be in the Times Square area...lots of food options nearby and easy walking to the various theatres. Given that we were right next to Times Square, the noise level in our room was very low...great sleeping. Excellent value though the rooms are small. Breakfast at the hotel was good...easy way to start the day. A shout out to Joseph (Bellman/conceirge)...gave us some great advice on getting around and places to grab a quick bite. He made the stay even more enjoyable.
The room temperature was problematic. Some came to fix the problem, but it recurred more than once a day...either too hot or too cold. Breakfast area was too small for the number of people, and quality of the food was not up to our usual experience. People were pleasant and helpful, but the infrastructure inadequate.
Overall, staff was great. Hotel was minutes from Times Square and close to restaurants and close to most current shows. Ask for Joseph or Kareem for great tips on where to go. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty good. Pillows were very flat so ask for more if you need to be propped up. Great time.
Everyone was really nice and it was a great place to stay! Joseph the bellman was just absolutely wonderful. He made everything easy for us very friendly and professional, very savvy and high-end. Nice guy! Took care of our things that we didn’t know anything about in the city.
Shane maintains excellent social & problem solving skills. He is smart, kind, empathetic and cares about his work… and the hotel guest. His assistance was helpful beyond measure. He is definitely ‘A Good Man’.
