Fantastic hotel and all around great experience. It was a special occasion for my husband and I and they had champagne in the room and put us in a high floor. This was very much appreciated! We booked the smallest room, but it was plenty big enough and the bathroom was very nice with a large shower, makeup mirror, and all the extras you could need. We were on the 30th floor and could not hear the street noise although we faced 8th street. However, the construction noise from the construction site across the street was quite loud and started early in the morning on weekdays. This of course was no fault of the hotel, but something to be aware of. The view was great though with the large windows. The buffet breakfast was nice with plenty of options and much better than a nearby hotel we stayed in last year. The only day we had to wait was Saturday and this was about a 10 minute wait, so not bad. The lobby is very nice. Check in and out were easy. We loved the on-site coffee shop where we picked up waters, sodas, and chai tea daily. We also visited the on-site fashion bar once and it was beautiful inside. We came at 11:30 and didn’t realize they closed at 12 on Saturday and they started turning on the lights and shutting off the music about 10 minutes after we came so they seemed pretty eager to close down asap, which seemed early for NYC. Overall the stay was great and the location was ideal and easy walk to all the Broadway shows we saw in addition to restaurants, birdland jazz club, Times Square, etc. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to NYC!…
I picked this hotel because it was comparatively inexpensive and its location in the heart of the Theater District. I was very impressed by how helpful the front desk was, the cleanliness of the room, the decor, and the incredible breakfast buffet. It is about 15 short blocks to Central Park for anyone looking for a pleasant run or walk. In addition, it is just a block or two from Schmackery's Cookies (yum!).
We checked in and there was a room available and we didn’t have to wait. It was walking distance to all of the Broadway Theaters. It was absolutely amazing. The employees were so nice and friendly. Great service and the breakfast was amazing. I will definitely be staying here again.
The hotel and room were clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful when approached. The breakfast was very tasty and there was a large selection of food. The only downside was we weren't informed that opposite our room was a building site which created loud noises from 7 am. We planned to go out later in the morning through to late evening so would have preferred to sleep past 7 am.
Perfect location. Clean and tidy as expected. No problems whatsoever with the room or staff. The food could be a lot better. Mass produced for breakfast and evening meal. Could be a lot better. Overall 4/5 I would go back without doubt. Very good.
The location of the hotel is ideal for those wishing to explore all parts of the city. The rooms are clean, modern and higher rooms have a great view of the city. The food is excellent, plenty of choices. Breakfast can be very busy however staff are very organised. Dinner is also very good, different choices each evening. The only negative about this hotel is the tourist tax charge ($99 for three nights) , this is payable upon check in. My husband and I will definitely be returning to the riu plaza
It's busy, but well controlled, great location, very noisy from construction work during working hours, decent breakfast, again very busy but well managed, comfortable room - took 4 days to get my TV to work after repeatedly reporting it, I ended up fixing it myself. All that said, I would stay again....
Amazing hotel! We booked this hotel through British Airways . We booked this with having a buffet breakfast available, meaning we could fuel up before a long day of sightseeing. We got upgraded on our room too . The room had 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. Shower in the bathroom was amazing ! Let down to the room is that there was no coffee or tea facilities , but water was left in fridge on a morning. Breakfast available was lovely, pancakes waffles and other items available. Staff were very helpful and nice We loved this hotel! And we will for sure be back.
We visited in April 2022 and stayed for five nights. The room is exactly what you need for a busy sight-seeing holiday to New York. We did not spend a lot of time in the room as we were out most of the day, but the room was clean and the hotel facilities were great. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice. You did have to wait to be seated on some mornings around peak times, but this can be expected in a large hotel. They opened a second breakfast area in the bar that helped reduce the congestion. The location of the hotel is great and I would have no doubts in staying here again if I returned to New York.
Stayed at the hotel for a week with the family and I cannot say enough great things. From the moment we arrived everyone was extra nice and welcoming. The room was spacious, the location was great as we were within walking distance to so many locations. I would recommend to anyone.
