The Hilton New York Grand Central (or Manhattan East as it was known when we booked) is a hotel which I have now visited twice; once in August 2016 and again in February 2017. Both times the hotel has been a great place to stay. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Grand Central and 20 to Times...

Great place to stay. The location is fantastic. 5-minute walk to the UN Building. 7 minutes to Grand Central Station. 10 minutes to the Public Library. 20 minutes to Times Square. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Manhattan for sightseeing. Large rooms for Manhattan standards, clean place, friendly and helpful staff. It's a really good hotel to...

Just realized the name of the hotel has changed from Manhattan East to Grand Central. Another great stay at this hotel with consistent service. All staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. Location is central to everything and although the hotel does not have room service, there are plenty of restaurants near by. The wonderful gentlemen at the bell desk...

simply avoid! not as advertised - rooms look nothing like what is shown pictures, smells, old, woody building. Staff is not friendly - not helpful at all. Bed sheets smelt..staff did not do anything at all. Towels were not clean at all. They had stains and did not look washed at all.

So, the rooms in this hotel are very small, but it's NYC...so most hotel rooms are small. I must say though that the bathroom was suprisingly large. The location of this hotel is tough to beat for the price we paid. It's about a 12 minute walk to times square, and about 2 blocks from Grand Central. There are some...

Basic small room but adequate for our stay. Quick check in and friendly service. location great as close enough to Times square but not in the centre of the hustle and bustle, minutes walk away from Grand Central station. Super market close by. More than satisfied.

Good hotel. Staff amazing. Location perfect for business. Restaurant self serve is great but expensive. Often stay here as it is a very convenient location - esp easy to get to and from Laguardia. Rooms are smallish but clean and well set up.

This hotel was great and a pretty good price for a hotel in Manhattan. It was pretty neat how close it was to Grand Central Terminal and from Bryant Park. Everyone there was exceptionally nice. The concierge, I think her name was Karen, was very helpful and very sweet and she explained everything nicely. The front desk was also very...

This hotel is great value for money for Manhattan - pleasantly surprised with the quality of the place. The hotel room was large and spacious for NYC. There was great customer service and the staff were all very helpful. Good location and well connected, but still quiet rooms. Other reviews can be a bit misleading - perhaps not as good...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
