I stayed there back in 1999 (so the date I was forced to choose from the drop-down menu is incorrect) when I found it listed as a hostel. It was cheap, central and convenient. There were shared rooms with either 6 or 8 bunks. A key broke off in the room door and the lock was promptly replaced. It was...

That is NOT a picture of a room in this hotel/crack house/brothel/shelter. This place doesn't even deserve a 1-star rating. If you're young, broke and want a party place, then okay. But, for everyone else...stay away. A lot of the "guests" are scuzzy-looking homeless people who are placed there by the city. All they do is hang out on the...

Don't expect too much! You just get a basic room and have to share the bathroom, no restaurant available. It's good for young people who don't want to spend too much money on a hotel where you won't be most of the time when visiting the city.

The only positive aspect is the very central position, but all the rest was awful: incredibly small rooms, extremely dirty and smelly rooms and corridors, filthy shared bathroom and toilets, high price for what I got!

Please please do not stay here!!! This is a shelter and should never be listed as a hotel. Also, the picture shown could not be more of a joke. I live down the block from this place and would feel horrible if a tourist came and stayed there. Please do not be fooled by this made up picture!!!!

This Aladdin Hotel was definitely the WORST hotel I´ve ever seen in my life. I am from a developing country (Brazil), and I´ve never seen in my country such a bad place to stay on. It is as SHAME that the New York department of something-related-matter did not close down this place. I´ve booked a room at this tourist trap...

This hotel is basically a shelter. It is disgustingly dirty and there are scary people running around at all hours of the night. The couple staying in the room next to us got into a fight and we could hear the man beating the woman. There were screams and horrible noises coming from the next room and the police were...

This is not even comparable to YHA. Far from it! Can't close the windows at night. Spider web in every corner of the room. Flooded bathroom and toilets. If you want to ruin your holiday, this will definitely fulfill it.

All 6 us my friends and I stayed in one big room. We laughed we dranked and partied. The only thing we had to adapt to for that week was the shared bathroom. But it was New York during spring break, we understood. So no big deal. We're from Chicago, not that much difference.

I got to the hotel during the morning. I was handed the keys to my room, wich I knew was a shared room. I open the door, still carrying my luggage and what I see: to half naked 25 years young girls. I... am a male. So what I did not know, was that the room was shared by members...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
