The location of the hotel is wonderful, but the people are the major draw. Everyone with whom we ever came into contact treated us like family. Our room was lovely, and there is nothing about our experience that was anything less than perfect. They went out of their way to assist in ways in which we didn't even know we...

For a wonderful option to the hustle and bustle of Midtown's toney hotels, this Boutique gem on the edge of Washington Square in Greenwich Village is perfect. the staff could not be more friendly and accommodating, especially the Front Desk Staff and housekeeping. Be sure to enjoy the delicious restaurant in the hotel called North Square.

I stayed here while visiting customers at NYU. I found the staff very welcoming. The room itself was quite small but adequate for my needs. Coffee machine, ensuite with shower over bath and TV what else could you want. Watch out for the breakfast options. There is one on the first floor which is very basic but included. If you...

Perfect boutique hotel in one of the greatest villages in Manhattan. It is very quiet, has great service, homey feel, and amazing location. It is right next to New York University's main campus and across Washington Square Park. You can walk for around 5 minutes to get to Union Square.

We booked this hotel for one night of R&R, found it based on proximity to the Village Vanguard where were going to hear the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. The hotel is charming. The room was huge, nice king sized bed, really nice shower. Our only complaint was that we had trouble making the temperature in the room comfortable. Even though it...

We stayed for my daughter's audition at NYU. Great price, great location. The room was small but nice, clean, had everything you need. Hotel provided free wi-fi and breakfast. Staff was helpful with everything.

Charming hotel. Excellent decor. Very clean rooms. Excellent service. Terrific location. We had a wonderful experience and would be happy to return. The breakfast, which is complimentary, was very good; and the service was fine.

The location can't get any better if you want to be in the West Village. The hotel is right off of Washington Square Park, near the subway and everything the Village offers. Free wifi, in-room safe, free breakfast (muffins, croissants, bagels, fruit, yogurt). I stayed in a deluxe room and the size was just right. The bed was comfortable, if...

My new top choice for accommodations in NYC, with rooms, service, amentiies, location and price all unbeatable for this neighborhood. Family-owned and newly renovated, the care shows and the staff carries out that care as well. It's hard to find two days/nights of perfection at any hotel, but this one really delivers.

The Wash. Sq. Hotel is like a second home for us. We are New Yorkers who retired upstate, but I still have projects to do that brings me to Lower Manhattan. From the moment we arrive, the doorman helps us with the bags (we are not as young as we once were), the desk clerks are friendly and promptly take...

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
