Stayed here for three nights on business in May having just stayed for the previous three nights at a sister hotel in Washington DC. The contrast in room size from Washington to here tells you a lot about the different cities. Huge room in Washington - very small here in NYC. Having said that the hotel is clean and well...

Am staying here for 2 nights on business and while most Kimptons surpass expectations, this one did not. A couple of things to note: 1- The hotel lobby, while decorated in nice furnishings, was very small, run down and dirty. 2- The elevators floors had not been vacuumed and were very dirty as well 3- The bar served plastic silverware...

Just returned from a visit to New York and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It had a great location. Close to the hustle and bustle of Times Square (15 minute walk) and Madison Avenue. But, located on a quiet residential street. The rooms were small, but very clean and relaxing. The staff was awesome! All were extremely helpful...

I wanted to stay in a boutique hotel and have stayed in one of the other Kimpton properties and was very satisfied. This New York City hotel is in the middle of being renovated. My second floor Park Ave street view window had scaffolding in front. It looked like an unfinished balcony outside the window. Needless to say, the noise...

Stayed here in December 09 for 9 days, fantastic time to go just before Christmas. Room was lovely, clean with great views of the Empire State Building. Location people didn't like but we thought it was fine not that far from Time Square less than a minute away from Grand Central Station. The thing I would say is your never...

I have stayed at many Kimpton locations nationally as well as in NYC and this is likely one of my favorites. Super friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are quiet and well appointed. If you're back in time, the happy hour is always a nice touch and the price is tolerable for Manhattan. Like almost all NYC hotels, rooms, and...

My second time here in 3 years. I booked because I had business at the Carlton and remembered this property fondly. But previously I had a suite and now, just a room. Small, needs refurbishment. There are no restaurants in the hotel but plenty nearby and a small coffee bar/lounge that's not good. The people have the Kimpton attitude which...

We go to NYC often and have always stayed at other hotels. This was our first time without a car and thus had total flexibility on where to stay. We tried the Kimpton because of its location and it was a great surprise. They were so nice in every regard and the room was noticeably larger than in previous hotels....

Decent hotel near Grand Central Station. Not a whole lot else in that area if you are dining alone! Nice enough room if pretty small - tub was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel room, including in NYC. Wine in the evening was a nice touch - as was getting a mini bar voucher if you are...

I adore Kimpton properties big time. Although they don't have that many properties whenever I am in a city that has one I select them over other hotels. This property definitely did not "act" like a Kimpton. The welcome was surly, unprofessional, and downright rude. The amenity that I have on my profile was ignored. The note left for an...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
