I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn down the street, but wanted a view of the Chrysler Building. When I called, I was told I could have a room with a view of the top of the Chrysler Building. After making my reservation, I...More

The room was small and dark with worn furniture. The bathroom was tiny and had a tub and shower combination with a shower curtain. The towels were old and the toiletries were motel quality. But for the convenient location next to Grand Central, I would...More
We stayed one night in the Grand Hyatt. The location is amazing. It has its own entrance to Grand Central Station, and the Chrysler building is right down the street. Our room was fairly well furnished and quiet (for the middle of the city.) New...More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

It gets tricky when answering this question due to many factors being involved. Depends on the day(s) you are traveling. Whether busy day (weekends) or holiday season you may be able to get away with about 25% of what your reservation is but again it all depends on the current booking situation whether they are booked to capacity or have a lot of rooms. If you can book an upgrade at the start you may be able to get a sweeter deal from an off hotel site such as TripAdvisor or hotels etc. If you want a nicer room and plan to upgrade just know that you may not be able to and you just might get stuck with the room you originally reserved so book wisely. Happy travels.
