Hotel itself is nice, and in a great position. We had a problem with the safe, wasted our first morning for someone to replace it, we received a voucher for free breakfast. The tv also broke and we waited 3/4 days to have that replaced. On one of our nights someone from the hotel let themselves into our room which made our son completely on edge as he thought we were about to be robbed. The hotel still haven't solved this issue as they had told us they would refund our taxes per night per person for the stay through booking.com. They haven’t, neither have they replied to the 4 emails I have sent them since .

Hotel's Favourite
We've stayed at this hotel 4 times, and its the best value for money if what you are looking for is location and comfort. This last stay was particularly good because the people at the hotel were very kind to accommodate my needs, especially the guest experience manager Betty McKenzie. Since there is no kitchenette or fridge in the room, and I need it to refrigerate something and then had it warm up each morning, she offered me a kettle and a mini fridge, which totally took care of my need. On top of that, I wrote to the hotel the day before, telling them that due to my flight being canceled, I was now arriving on an earlier flight which meant I was to arrive at the hotel at 6 am, without being able to sleep at all the previous night; Betty was extremely nice finding a room for me to check in at that moment so I could sleep at my arrival; in order to do that, she upgraded me to a better room which was the one available at that time. She really went out of her way to help me with everything, and that made all the difference. At the time of my stay, they were doing maintenance on the elevators so only 1 was working but I never waited more than 5 minutes.

Eugedelos, your repeat visits to Park Central Hotel New York and the heartening words you've shared make us incredibly proud! We're glad to know you've found our location convenient and our accommodations comfortable. It's also pleasing to note that Betty McKenzie, our guest experience manager, made your stay memorable by attending to your needs promptly. We also understand the importance of feeling looked after, especially when plans change unexpectedly, and we're pleased to hear that Betty was able to assist in turning your early arrival into a positive experience with a room upgrade. As for your mention regarding the elevator situation, we're working on providing smoother and more efficient services. Your patience during this time is much appreciated. We are eagerly awaiting your fifth visit, and until then, we hope you carry only the pleasant memories of your stay with us!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Park Central Hotel. The location is perfect - not far from 5th Avenue flagship stores, Times Square, theater district, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall - all within walking distance. We booked an overnight stay - our room was spacious and our bed was plush. After we checked out we lounged in the hotel lobby restaurant. The drinks and burgers were awesome. Nancy provided exceptional service and was delightful! She shared history about the hotel, drink and food recommendations, and continued to check on us. We will definitely stay at Park Central Hotel when we come back to visit NYC!

We were here about 15 years ago and picked this hotel specifically because we enjoyed it so much then. The rooms are wonderful! Specifically so clean and decorated so well! The beds are the best! The one thing I miss is having a lounge that’s open all day as well as a breakfast or lunch café. It would be so convenient to be able to sit and spend a little off time in the lounge with friends over cocktails and appetizers. I’m really surprised for such a classy hotel that there isn’t a lounge available especially for breakfast, lunch and afternoon. I know meal services is tough. But adding the lounge service from noon on would be wonderful! !!!

The worst hotel experience ever. The staff are extremely rude. Check in was awful and one of the people working there at the front desk was truly trashy and tried to cause problems. This hotel is generic, the area is not great, but the staff ruin it completely. With all of that our room had a major ceiling leak, towels were all soaked trying to control it. Do yourself a favor and rethink where you would like to stay. This hotel will ruin your stay in NYC.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with 7 friends as part of my 60 th birthday celebrations. We travelled from the uk to fulfil my dream of a visit NYC. Prior to arriving I had some email conversations with Betty Ann Mackenzie from guest Services. When we arrived the hotels computer systems had failed and they were down for the duration of our stay. We were allocated rooms on different floors four rooms in total but within 20 minutes Betty Ann made her way to find us and led us all to adjacent rooms on the same corridor which she had organised prior to the computer failure, in addition to that as English tea loving ladies she insured that we had a kettle placed in each room just to make life a little bit more comfortable for us. Small things I know but it was really appreciated. also she arranged balloons and Prosecco and cake in recognition of my birthday xx all in all she went above and beyond anything that I could’ve asked or hoped for and I will be eternally grateful to her and the rest of the staff throughout the hotel as despite being under extreme pressure with the lack of computer systems they went out of their way to ensure that we were safe and comfortable and even escorted members of my party to their rooms because their electronic keys weren’t working due to the system failures. It was an excellent stay in a lovely central well located hotel with lovely friendly staff.. a quick mention also to Nancy in the Lounge bar who looked after us eight ladies every time we visited thank you again we will definitely be back !

Alison, we're thrilled to hear that you and your friends had a remarkable experience at Park Central Hotel New York for your 60th birthday celebration. It's wonderful to learn that Betty Ann and our colleagues were able to modify your room distribution despite the technical malfunction, and secure you all comfortable accommodations with the homely convenience of kettles. Fulfilling your tea-loving needs and orchestrating an enjoyable birthday surprise were our pleasure. Our team's top dedication is ensuring guest satisfaction, and we're delighted that despite technical hiccups, your group felt safe and at ease. We appreciate your understanding under these circumstances and take pride in the level of hospitality Nancy extended in the lounge bar. Eternally grateful for your kind recognition, we're looking forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay!

-A fantastic hotel experience, great location just a real shame around the deposit/tab (still not resolved). Myself, my fiancee and our 2 year-old daughter booked to stay at this hotel during our first visit in New York for 4 nights. The location was perfect for all of the main tourist attractions that we wanted to see - we walked everywhere, and the beds (we had 2 large double beds in our room) were among the comfiest I have ever slept on - not just on holidays! On arrival, the lady working on reception was incredibly friendly and very helpful. All of the staff were very friendly especially to our daughter who really took to the attention - which was entirely appropriate and wasn't uncomfortable at all. It really added that extra quality feel to the holiday. The lady on reception was able to talk us through directions to where we could purchase milk for our daughter, and offered us a fridge for the room (we naively declined this at first, although when we did ask later in the day, a fridge was sent to the room and fitted the same evening). The only issue with our experience relates to the $400 deposit/tab we had to pay on arrival - we understood there would be a daily tax charge of around $40 a day which was expected, but we were not told beforehand of the additional $60 a day that was charged (which was the entirety of our budgeted spending money for the trip). This dampened what had been a perfect experience up to and after that point. House keeping was always great, and the room was comfortable and perfect-sized for our family of 3. The only *very minor* issue that we had was the plug would not work in the bath or sink. This was a minor inconvenience as it just meant we showered our daughter instead of bath as we would usually. As mentioned above, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, and had a great experience. All of the staff made a bee-line for our daughter, and she loved chatting to everybody. The (I believe) General Manager, we are especially thankful for, as on our last day just as we were checking out, she took our daughter to the shop and gave her complimentary sweets, and made sure we had water while we awaited transport back to the airport. Truly, thank you as that went a really long way and rounded off a fantastic stay at Park Central Hotel. We queried with the General Manager around the process of recieving our 'deposit/unused tab' back into our accounts after checking out, and we were assured that this takes 3 to 5 business days and will be returned to the account that we used automatically minus any charges to the room (we didn't use this, so fully expect our $240 ($400 - $160 roughly from the daily tax charge). We have now been home 16 days (10 working days if you do not include bank holidays) and we are yet to receive any refund of charges back in to our account - which is concerning. We have called to raise this, and hope for a resolution ASAP. Other than this, it has been an incredible first experience of an incredible city!

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had! The room we were given was more than adequate. Bed was very comfortable and decor quite nice. My fiancé and I did not spend too much time in the room because the best feature of Park Central is its location! A quick walk to most of the ideal destinations we wanted; Times Square, Empire State, The Hard Rock, Central Park. That list is endless. We saved so much money being able to walk or take the subway everywhere we wanted to go during our trip! House keeping service was always on point! Anytime we needed anything the staff was quick and accommodating. I can also see they are constantly upgrading and making it even better! Absolutely beautiful lobby and a fantastic restaurant and bar where the drinks and food quality are stellar! A big thanks to Nancy who was our server. She made so many great drink and meal recommendations that we really enjoyed! The difference for me, making our experience from good to great was most certainly the staff. In particular I want to personally thank Angie who helped us from start to finish with everything from reservations to check out. Elizabeth, and Vito + Saleem who always made sure we had everything we needed while staying. These employees are definitely what made our stay one of our most memorable. Thanks to all of you and to Park Central! We have the best memories because of you!

The hotel was in a great location, close to Central Park and Times Square was not too far away. The room was clean and well maintained. However, there were serious problems with the elevators not working. It would appear from reading other reviews that this issue has been ongoing for a number of months. We were checked in 48 hours before we got key cards for our room. The final point is additional unexplained charges to my credit card of over $450. I’ve been emailing the hotel a number of times to attempt to get an explanation for this but my emails are being ignored. Would not recommend this hotel.
