I took my wife here on a Saturday night as a surprise for her birthday. Since we already had dinner reservations and tickets for a broadway show, I thought it would be a nice touch to spend the night in the city. I found the hotel through the Groupon app, so needless to say, the price was very reasonable for...

A friend and I were in town from Mar 31- April 2 for a convention. Our flight arrived at 6:45 a. M and we were at the hotel by 7:45. They allowed us to check in, as one room was vacant ( we each had our own room). We went to breakfast, which was free and decent. Small danishes, bread,...

We found this hotel on the Hotels Tonight app on an impromptu trip to NYC. The check in staff was friendly and informative and guided us to inexpensive parking across the street. The hotel was "hip" and didn't make you feel like you were staying in a midtown chain. Very "boutique" feel to the place. Our room was small -...

Quiet and comfortable room, with smallish ensuite, but perfectly good enough for a long weekend. Helpful staff and good continental breakfast (included) but we did not get a chance to eat dinner there, as it was closed on Sunday eve; we ate in the Haven rooftop restaurant instead (see separate review).

This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of the Broadway district. It is a perfect place to stay for visitors who are in NYC to see Broadway shows. It is a quick walk to the theaters, and there are a great selection of restaurants and Irish pubs within a few blocks. The hotel upgraded our room to a...

I booked a last minute room for two nights via HotelsTonight. The rate was great but a pricier weekend in NYC. The hotel was a great hotel, great service, ambiance, decoration, however the rooms are incredibly tiny. Luckily I was traveling solo because I can't imagine two people fitting comfortably in the room that I had. There was literally no...

Two nights, Hotwire blind pick which I won't do again. Pluses: Nice bed linens, very professional service. Well located not far from broadway, but easy distance to mid-town, Rockefeller center. Cons: dated, dark cave-like public spaces with atrocious music in the lobby. Small rooms. Ours looked out on a shaft. Sure didn't feel like a 4.5star. Don't be lured by...

In their defense, customer service was excellent. The onsite restaurant and rooftop bar was wonderful. The hotel itself was okay, the rooms are small, like tiny even for NYC. The hotel needs to be updated.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
