The staff is friendly and helpful, the size of the rooms is big for NYC, good service in general. Good central location. Might be needing redecorating as it looks a bit aged but clean. Had some issues with AC/Heating.

have stayed here twice now for three nights each time-the location is good-walking distance to grand central and the empire state building-we actually walked to central park one day and back from times square after the show-but that might be a little farther than most people would want to walk-the rooms are very large by new York standards-we comfortably slept...

Another excellent stay at the Shelburne NYC. As always, the team here goes out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our room was excellent, and very comfortable. The hotel is a home away from home for us. I highly recommend the Shelburne NYC.

We spent 9 days at the Shelburne with our four year-old daughter, and the layout of the one bedroom suite was perfect -- lots of space for the three of us, and the convenience of the kitchenette for breakfast was great. The big problem with the first suite we were in was that the bedroom was right underneath/next to the...

Spent 9 nights here in April. Family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. One of the things I love best about US hotels is the ability to stay as a family in one room allowing families to stay in nice hotels economically. After all, in NYC who spends time in their room! What was great was to return to a...

We were travelling, but also had to work while visiting NY. The room was not ready by 3 as it should have been, we had to wait around until 4pm so that was disappointing. However the hotel provided us with very good facilities and comfort once we got checked in. We stayed a week so we could be in one...

this hotel really has both good and bad...and as long as you know that, its worth considering. The location of the hotel is in the Murray Hill area of NYC, so its a little more residential. Its quieter and not in a "hip area" or a particularly touristy area...so that could be a positive, or a negative, depending on what...

Had a suite. Good size. But bed meh. Bathroom tiny. Ridiculous. Only 2 elevators is th biggest issue. Many times you'll find yourself waiting precious New York time to get an elevator, primarily from the lobby.

Dear RFowner, Thank you for your review. It is disheartening to hear that your first stay with us wasn’t flawless. It is unfortunate that you encountered long wait times for the elevator. We do have a third service elevator located at the far right of the main two which is open for guest use. As you can see from many...

I really appreciated the location. Most attractions are within walking distance and Grande Central Station is just around the corner for easy subway travel. Plus the Shelburne is away from the crazy busy area of Midtown Manhattan. It's so nice to come back to a quiet neighbourhood. The rooms, while not posh are clean and comfortable. The bed was super...

I couldn't agree with you more, our location is perfect to get to some of the main attractions of NYC yet far enough to enjoy the more quite neighborhood areas. Our staff, especially Eddie will be pleased to read your kind words as our...

Stayed as a group of 8 adults in 4 rooms - staff were very accommodating (we asked for rooms on lower floors) and were great to deal with, either at the front desk or via email before our visit. The hotel is well located, very close to Grand Central Station, the Empirs State Building and of course Maceys. Times Square...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
