My wife and I came to celebrate our 50th and 40th birthday respectively. The hotel is a gem. It was like stepping into another world. The decor is stunning, the lift attendants from another place and time complete with white gloves and uniform. There is a really nice restaurant nearby which the desk recommended but not cheap. The Irish guy...

My husband and I went to NYC to spend a relaxing Anniversary weekend. We saw "Hamilton" and spent all day Saturday in Central Park. Without a doubt, the staff and accommodations at the Sherry-Netherland made the weekend complete. The bed was comfortable; the room was cool and modern; and the bathroom was luxurious. The double-paned windows and black-out shades made...

I travel weekly, and for kicks have made it a point to test each cities #1 trip advisor hotel acroos the globe . We visited NYC 7 times the past 18 months, and stayed at the most exclusive properties, but The Sherry Netherland does deliver something special. It does deserve the #1 ranking, IF you want a high end boutique,...

Wonderful hotel in best location in New York. Service, decor and ambience are beyond reproach. As a quest you feel as though you have gone back in time. Every little detail of the room is well thought out and they haven't missed a beat! This has been our go to hotel in New York for fifteen years and it has...

Stayed here the night of my engagement. Staff was very friendly and kind; they upgraded our room to a park view and gave us a bottle of champagne. The room itself was large and beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The one downside was that it was the coldest night of the year, and the radiator in our room...

This hotel deserves all the accolades it receices. The staff, the white gloved elevator operators, the spacious roooms and the general atmosphere are top drawer. The Hotel's location only adds to its attractiveness. The entire experience is wonderful.

The Sherry Netherlands Hotel is one of the best kept secrets New York has to offer. However, I guess that won't be for long - I found out after our trip that it was named Trip Advisor's #1 Hotel in the World. From the turn-of-the-century décor to the service provided by all staff - I would describe as very warm,...

Came for an interview. Greeted nicely by Stefan. Thoughtful complimentary items and great overall services. Love the location, ran 6 miles around Central Park close by. Also the lights - never understood why so many hotels want to keep rooms dim, but here light is enough. Although sound insulation might be a problem to some guests. Will definitely come back...

I wish I could have stayed here longer than one night. I was in town for business which took place at The Plaza hotel across the street and needed to find a good hotel at a lower price than The Plaza. I took advantage of a special spring offer at the Sherry Netherland and the value for the dollars was...

The Sherry is a great place to keep returning to in NYC. The attention to detail is extremely high, the decor is just amazing and it is all set in a beautiful building in a really excellent location on 5th Ave and 59th St. The room I was in had nice views across to the park and the Plaza Hotel,...

I am delighted that you enjoy staying with us, and that our staff provided you with outstanding attention and service. They work very hard, and take great pride in giving our guests outstanding experiences. I will look into simplifying the light switches in the Park View room you stayed in, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
